Lately there's talk about Autism acceptance and I wonder if the proponents of this also think that the meltdowns in Autism should be accepted as normal.
How can a behavior that leaves a person swollen and bloody be considered normal?

Since Mickie's first Seizure in May of this year, I've had him a three supplements that he used to take until five years ago. I though he was safe, but I was wrong.
I've kept a diary of all the biomedical interventions that I have used to help Mickie so I went back to it and found the names of the supplements.
He takes Pignogenol, Glycine and N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine ( this last one boosts cellular glutathione levels) It's is not a good idea to take straight glutathione, but better to take the precursors.
Will be adding Lecithin as soon as it arrives. Lecithin is a precursor for important neurotransmitters.

Yesterday Mickie had an EEG to rule out Seizure activity. I've been a nervous wreck ever since the Seizure he had May 30th, 2017.
Today I received good news from his Neurologist. The EEG didn't detect any Seizures. Hopefully he won't have anymore.

For parents caring for kids and adults with autism, some of their behaviors can get really expensive.
Mickie has been ripping apart mattresses and pillows for over a decade now. Not only is it expensive to replace them because he has incontinence issues and they have to be waterproof, but add to that the fact that for some unknown reason he just has need to rip everything in his room apart.
He has gone through around 30 mattresses in the last 10 years. This year he finally took apart his car bed so I got him another bed, but he ripped apart the mattress.
I just got him a faux leather futon to see how long that last. Will make a video about it shortly.

Last week Mickie had a meltdown over pizza. Apparently one of the classroom aids offered him pizza, not knowing he is not allowed to have pizza due to Casein and Gluten intolerance, then immediately after she learns that he can't have any and reminds him that he already ate, but by then he was so upset that it escalated into a big meltdown and he ended up banging his head on the floor two times.
I knew that Keppra, the medication he was prescribed to manage his seizures would make him irritable and he had been really grumpy in the last few weeks, but I was very surprised he had banged his head, since this had not happened in a few years. Self injury is the reason he was prescribed Risperdal.
I hope this will be just a one time thing.
