Iris Debrito is an Angolan who danced kizomba while very young and this was her first performance of kizomba outside Angola and she introduces this as a dance that was unknown outside of Africa at that time. This is the oldest kizomba video I have found and I have tried to restore the audio and video quality it as much as possible. The following is the history she had posted with the video....
As explained in the intro of the video, Kizomba exists since the 1980's - www.studioafrolatino.com for more on the history of Kizomba. In August 2005, Kizomba was introduced for the first time outside the Lusophone community into the Salsa and Lambada scene @ Scala Latino for the August Bank Holiday party. It's now been more than 4 years and Kizomba has grown in the UK thanks to teachers such as Kwenda Lima, Riquita or myself. New blood stormed the scene and is now teaching regularly around London, e.g. Studio Afro Latino teachers Norma and Said.
