My name is Chris and today we will have a conversation about dealing with problems. Welcome to your daily English conversation practice lesson with me about the problems you have in daily life. Here is how this lesson is set up. First, I will ask you some questions and give you the time to answer them. Then, in the first few lessons, I will give you my answers to these questions.
To get the most out of these lessons:
1st You will try and answer the questions.
2nd You will write your answers in a comment and I will check them for you to fix any mistakes.
3rd You will practice again with me using your new answers.
Practice will make you comfortable having a conversation with others in English.
Today's Questions:
How do you deal with your problems?
What problems do you come across in your work or life?
Do you feel that problems are opportunities? Why or Why not?
What was the last problem you solved and how did you do it?
"Problems don't matter. Solutions do." Do you agree or disagree?

hi everyone and welcome back to your English grammar lesson. Today we are going to learn all about singular nouns and plural nouns. Are you ready? I am so let's kind of jump into this, but first our learning objectives are to know all about these singular and plural nouns. How do we change the plural nouns? That's really important and I'm going to show you how to do that today. So let's get started now.
What is a singular noun? Well, a singular noun is one thing. That's it. It's one thing. What is this? It's a phone right. It's a phone. Do you hear the article A? That tells you how many right. It is one thing. A phone cool. Easy right? I knew you were smart. It's just a normal thing right. It's just a normal noun. There's nothing special about it. It's what you already know how to do. Cool. Let's take a look at this now. The basketball player is shooting a basketball on the court. Can you see the nouns in this? Let's take a look and see if we found the nouns. Be careful on this one now. It's tricky. yeah It wasn't basketball player. It was just player. Basketball describes player and that's something I'll teach you later. So player. One player. Just like in the video. One player and then is shooting one basketball. A basketball. A singular noun. Right now where a court. The court sorry. The court. One place. cool Do you see that? The basketball player shooting a basketball on the court. It all matches. Singular nouns okay. Told you that you have got this. Now what is a plural noun? Well a plural noun is more than one thing. just anything. It could be two or a hundred or a thousand or million,Ii you have a million of something. I have a million grains of sand. cool. Now what does that mean? There are four different ways to change a plural noun. relax okay relax. it's not as bad as it sounds. You might already know some of these rules. I'm just kind of wiggling around in my chair here. Let's take a look at the first one okay. Most singular nouns you can just add s.
yeah it's pretty simple. you just add an S right. phone. phones. We have phones.
Now what are those rules again? We want to make sure we remember the plural noun rules. The first one for most singular nouns we just add the S to make it plural. For nouns ending with s, x, ch, and sh, we add the letters ES. For nouns ending with a vowel a e i o u y and the letter y, we add s. For nouns ending with a consonant b c d, the normal letters right. The not vowel letters plus a y we change that y to an i and add es. y to an i and add ES. that's the only rule i had to remember when i was younger because that was the only strange one.

Let's have some fun and improve your English fluency by reading aloud in this speaking practice lesson. Our first book will be Holes. You can get your copy here: https://amzn.to/2PvZMRE
For this lesson you will need the book. You can use the E-book, Paperback or any version but you will need a book to read from.
Here is how reading aloud with me will help you improve your English fluency.
1. You will get to hear how I break down words to pronounce them.
2. You will get to hear how a native speaker blends sounds and words together naturally.
3. You will learn how to pause to emphasize elements of what you say.
4. You will learn proper tone and inflection to make your speaking more dynamic.
5. You will have fun reading in English and that is what this is really about. Having fun while learning makes you learn faster.
I recommend that you watch this video with headphones on and your book. Sit in a place where you can comfortably read out loud and not disturb anyone. This is very important. You must read aloud with me to benefit from the speaking drills. I have used this method for years and my intermediate level English students see fast improvement in their speaking fluency. It also improves their reading skills.
