It's part of a long process where this administration has gone after its, its enemies. And, um, look, I don't agree with Mike Lindell's philosophy. I don't agree that the election was stolen. I think Biden one, the election, but I don't pick my clients based on whether I agree or not. I, I pick my clients based on whether they are victims of improper prosecutorial action and whether they are victims of unconstitutional action. And I think that, uh, there is a, a very strong possibility that Linde is being targeted because of his political views and because of his advocacy for positions that I don't necessarily support, but I'm gonna defend him. I'm gonna defend the first amendment. I'm gonna defend due process. I'm gonna defend the constitution. So Dershowitz says, this is just Mike Linde, founder of MyPillow, somehow being persecuted for his political beliefs, which by the way, Dershowitz makes clear. I don't agree with him on any of this, but I will fight to the death, his right, to say these things and for first amendment and free speech. Yeah. Hey, listen, bud. I know, you know this because you're not an idiot, right? Alan Dershowitz has many things, but an idiot. He is not, he knows the law. He's actually pretty good at it. You know, to give him credit there. He's, you know, personal life got some issues there that are gonna be dealt with in court. However, he knows the law and he knows well, this is not a first amendment case that he is representing Mike Linde for. He has seen the same documents that Mike Linde revealed on his, uh, little Linde TV show, even though he was told by the FBI not to do it. Um, but he knows that Linde is listed as a co-conspirator as are many others. And even some unnamed co-conspirators in that FBI document. So he knows that his client, Mike Linde is likely facing criminal charges in the very near future. They don't go and confiscate your cell phone if they don't think, or at least have enough evidence to prove to a judge, to get the warrant that you have done something illegal, or at least that the phone was involved in illegal activity. Deitz knows all of these things folks. So what he is out there doing right now is misdirecting the public. He is trying to convince this Maga audience that he has somehow fallen in love with right. Republicans in the state of Missouri are pushing legislation that would remove taxes on firearms purchased in the state, but voted against an amendment that would have repealed a 1.225% sales tax on all non-prepared food. The sales tax on guns is the state standard of a little more than 4%, but there's always money for pandering. Additionally, the legislation would allow for subsidies to be given to gun stores to cover the excise federal taxes on firearms and ammunition, which would end up costing more than repealing the food tax. The state of Missouri has watched over the last few years as the rates of both gun violence and gun homicides have gone through the roof steadily increasing every single year. So clearly the state of Missouri has a gun problem. So what are republicans in the state planning on doing about it? They're planning on cutting taxes when you buy a gun. Here's what would happen. According to legislation proposed by Missouri, uh, state Senator Rick Bratton, they want to exempt gun sales from the state income tax of 4.225%, effectively reducing it to 0%. So if you wanna go and buy a gun, they say, we don't want you to have to pay state tax on that. But don't worry cuz you'll still have to pay your, your federal taxes on firearms and ammunition. But they're, they're telling gun stores, don't worry because my legislation Rick Bratton says also includes the state giving you subsidies to offset the federal taxes that you would owe for selling the guns. So consumers won't have to pay taxes on guns. The gun sellers won't have to pay the federal taxes on the sale of those guns. We wanna make sure everybody can have a gun in this state that's witnessing a disturbing uptick in gun violence. Another piece of this legislation that was voted down and stripped from the bill by these very same Republicans would've exempted non prepared food items purchased at grocery stores from sales tax. They took that out. So Missouri republicans are literally pushing legislation that does not lower taxes on food pur, uh, purchases, but it removes all taxes on gun purchases cuz apparently guns are a necessity. But food is just a luxury for those who can afford it. And here's the kicker. As I said, the sales tax in the state on hand guns is 4.225%. That's sales tax on everything in the state except for food, for food, non prepared food. The sales tax is only 1.225%. So the sales tax on food, even though they sell a hell of a lot more of it, is much less than what is on guns. But they said the Republicans did, they can't cut the food taxes because that's just gonna cost the state too much money. But in the same piece of legislation, they're saying let's remove all taxes for guns and then just give gun sellers state money so they don't have to pay federal taxes. Can can kids eat guns? State of Missouri Republicans across the country, can kids eat guns? Like if your, if your family is starving, They need food, but you can't afford it, what are they supposed to do with all these guns and ammunition that they're buying? Do you expect 'em to all go out there and hunt with their handguns? I mean, D does the average person out there who can't afford food know how to take down a wild animal and clean it and prepare it in a way that's not going to basically give parasites to their entire family? You think that's a thing everybody in Missouri knows how to do? Cuz I'm willing to bet it's not. But this shows the Republican party's priorities. They would rather you be able to have a gun than to have food for your family.
