Welcome to Alexander (Normal) The Cuff of the Son Visual Raid Guide part of the Heavensward content for Final Fantasy XIV. Alexander - Alexander - The Cuff of the Son, known by players as A6 or M2, is the second floor of the raid Alexander: Midas in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. Why watch really short clips and skip fight mechanics when you can see the whole fight in its entirety? In this no commentary lets play, watch me run through the Burden of the Father from a Machinist perspective while listening to the music and audio queues. You'll experience the overview of the fight and see the boss mechanics in my visual guide of FFXIV! Watch me take down the four bosses! There are two trash mobs before the four main bosses of this raid, similar to A2. I believe all the bosses give a stacking debuff, so tanks may want to look into this and see when swapping is necessary. Boss 1 is Blaster Blaster drops mines which can and should be avoided (tank may have to move the boss depending on the placement) Players will then be marked and have copies of Blaster fall on them. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage. ~ Try to spread out in a line to make it easier to deal with The copies will charge in the direction they are facing after a short delay If tagged, you will take damage and receive a vulnerability debuff. Tanks don't have to swap. Boss 2 is Brawler Tank should face the boss away while everyone else stacks right behind it. Brawler has three different attacks. Look at the hands to figure out which is coming. 1 Single drill 2 single laser 3 Double laser The drill seems to randomly target If there's a single laser, the tank can soak this by themselves (they may have to pop a cd if their gear isn't up to snuff). If it's a double laser, the tank should join the group and split the damage (lots of AOE heals). Single drill seems to do less damage the further u are way from it (spread out). Tanks will need to swap after (3) stacks of the vulnerability debuff. Boss 3 Swindler There is a debuff placed on everyone based on an altitude (high or low). The floor panels will raise and lower to deal with this mechanic. The raised panels will glow red. Go to the elevation opposite of the debuff received. (If you get the high debuff (purple), go to the lower panels. If you get the low debuff (red), go to the higher panels. You can also tell which debuff the size of the rings around you after the initiation). Choosing the wrong elevation will cause you to take substantial damage and receive a vulnerability debuff There will be unavoidable AOE damage afterwards. The number of orbs above the targeted person indicates the number of people who need to be in the ring to split the damage in order to nullify it.
