I made another full-spectrum timelapse of the night sky with my converted Nikon Z5.
14-30mm /4 lens
10 second exposure with 4 second pause between shots.
f/4
ISO 200
October 9th-10th, 8:57pm - 12:18am
No IR or bandpass filters, just pure full spectrum goodness.
Using a custom preset white balance setting. No curves adjustment or colour grading in post.
It's curious how much more lens flare is present in a full spectrum shot than in a visible light only shot. This lens is incredibly flare-resistant on my visible light Z6.
Take a close look at Jupiter (the bright "star" to the right of the moon) how it has a ring of flare surrounding it during the start of the video.
When shooting full-spectrum night sky time lapses seems, unfiltered seems the way to go.
The camera shut itself down partway into the timelapse, despite more than half the battery remaining. I have pushed my Z6 harder than this making timelapses, so it seems the Z5 sensor needs more time to rest and cool down between shots.

I went backpacking through Algonquin Park.
After a rainy morning, I set up my camera to record the sunny afternoon.
Shot with my Nikon Z6 and 14-30mm f/4 S lens. My tripod broke on the hike, so my camera was held in place with a pile of pine cones and tree bark.

My friend started collecting isopods.
I used my 105mm/2.8 S macro lens to try to grab some quick footage, but these things are very shy and don't seem to like light, or movement. It took a while, but I finally found one lovely little ducky willing to pose for me for a moment!

A practical low light test for Nikon's fullframe mirrorless camera, the Z 6.
What does it look like when all you have is a single candle, at f/4?

Playing with a Blue Laser and some glow in the dark paint.
This video contains an audio track created by me, Kyle Clements.
It also contains crickets chirping in the background.

I believe the recent friction between Advertisers, YouTube, and content creators is caused by advertisor's fear of entering the third stage of advertising.
We used to have show hosts speak about a single sponsor.
Then we had pre-made commercials.
Now we are moving towards user-targeted ads, which track users, rather than content.
Advertisers are afraid to make the switch, and because of that, they are forcing platforms to promote bland generic content over content that *really* resonated with small groups of people.

This is part of a collaborative sonic arts/sound art project from 2005 between myself and two close friends.
We walked around the city of Toronto with a microphone and field recorder, capturing the ambient sounds around us as we explored.
The direction we took was determined by "Manfred" The name we gave to the man on the walk/don't walk signs.
We then took the recorded audio and mangled it with whatever audio editors we had access to at the time (Mostly Adobe Audition, Audiomulch, and Goldwave). We set a number of strict rules for ourselves as to what was and was not allowed. Cutting and pasting, time stretching, and adding new sounds, for example, were strictly forbidden.
At the time, we did not have access to video capture devices, so this was an audio only project. I have created a video accompaniment to go along with these sound files.

I was visiting family over the thanksgiving weekend, and my Mom found my first ever camera!
The Pentax K-1000 is a great film camera, but I find film one of the most frustrating and limited storage formats out there, so I got a K mount to Z mount adapter so I can pop my first ever lens on my current camera body.
Within minutes of that K-Z adapter arriving at my door I had my Pentax lens mounted to my Nikon body, and I was on my way to High Park for an early autumn shoot.
While using my first ever lens again for the first time in 22 years brought back a lot of memories, I have to say it isn't a particularly great lens. The Pentax lens adds a brown tint to the image, sharpness and contrast is lower than my Helios 77 or Nikon 50mm /1.8D, highlights tend to bloom, strong green/magenta hue around out-of-focus high contrast areas. It seems to blow out details on brightly saturated areas, but duller areas have an almost painterly quality.
This Pentax lens has a bit of nice soft rendering, and a bit of swirly bokeh, but the Canon FD 50mm /1.8 has softer rendering and the Helios has swirlier bokeh, so I'm not too sure when I'd opt for this lens over either of those two.
And my Nikon 50mm /1.8 D has 7 aperture blades for when I want to shoot stopped down and don't want those gross hexagons.
