Modern Art is a term to depict the art of XX century and onwards. It represents the opposite to traditional art, and it is mostly an aesthetic concept. The end of it would be the postmodernism, where it is impossible to create anything original, only reinterpretations. There are many movements, and the production is so wide that it is impossible to know all.
Architecture. Modern architecture began with the skyscrapers and the Bauhaus, and was also influenced by the pictoric movements and the use of new materials.
International Style is a group of architectures that share purist and functionalist forms. It is the result of industrialization, mechanic, engineering and new materials.

Baroque in England was not very developed.
Architecture
Inigo Jones: he was the first in to use the proportion and symmetry from Vitruvius in his buildings. It was an influence for the later english palladianism. Queen’s house, Banqueting house.
Christopher Wren: he rebuilt more than fifty churches in baroque aesthetic. St Paul Cathedral in London has a dome inspirated in the one of Michelangelo in St Peter and the one in Val-de-Grâce by Mansart. Royal hospital of Chelsea, Royal hospital of Greenwich, Hampton Court Palace, Tom Tower in Oxford.
William Talman: Chatsworth House.
Sculpture: for religious reasons, there weren’t iconic representations. Sculpture mostly funerary.
Nicholas Stone: Portico of St Mary in Oxford, Charles I, Elizabeth I, Sir Moyle Finch Tomb, York House Water Gate.
Hubert Le Sueur: Equestrian statue of Charles I.
Louis-François Roubiliac: a great number of frenchmen worked in England. This sculptor is the most important. Händel (2), Newton, Ann Bellamy Lynn Memorial.
Painting: influenced by the painters in France and Netherlands, specially Van Dyck.
William Hogarth: he did engravings too. For him, the paintings are acts of a comedy, so he made series of paintings. Moralizing desire. Prostitute, Libertine, Marriage a la Mode, Beer Street, March of the guards to Finchley, Gate of Calais, Prawns seller, Servants of the painter.
Thomas Rowlandson: Vaux Hall, Dance of death.
Portraitists: they are continuators of the school of Van Dyck.

Thomas Gainsborough: he began as landscaper and later he made portraits. Blue child, Mrs Siddons, Morning walk.

How the egyptian pyramids were built was a mystery for many years but no longer. Many videos explaining it already exist, and many even consider aliens. Here I just explain you without even using words, and in 2 minutes, how they were built. Get the quick information and don't believe fools.
The construction is thought to be made with an interior ramp, also using ramps to transport the stones.

Decorative Arts is how is called to the jewelry and other manifestations that used silver, gold and other precious materials. Artists of other arts such as architecture or sculpture worked in this. In this video I’m doing an aproximation to the different typologies, mostly in religious art.
Techniques
Chiselled: for details.
Embossment: plaques of silver are beaten from the outer part.
Engraving: it is like drawing in the surface.
Filigree: silver thread, cheaper.
Objects
Candlestick: a candle.
Chandelier: many candles.
Custodies: architectural objects that expose the hosts. They are like small architectural altarpieces. Processional custodians. Buildings in miniature, with towers, of central plant. It is the throne of God. In the examples I’ve added the Custody of Seville by Juan de Arfe, the Custody of Valladolid by Juan de Arfe, and Custody of Teruel by Bernabé García de los Reyes.
Ostensory: where the host is placed, shaped like the sun with a shaft like the chalices. In the baroque, the rays are called tornapuntas. Custody of hands.
Bust reliquary: with skulls or relics inside.
Ark reliquaries: the whole body is inserted. Ark of St. Millan and Ark of the Kings (Cologne).
Arks: like a tomb. To keep the Eucharist.
Sanctuary: where is the Eucharist, the sancta sanctorum. The sanctuaries are like buildings because it is the temple of God and the temple of Solomon. A lamp is placed on top, which is a buoy with a candle hanging from the ceiling.
Censer: brazier that must be moved with a chain. It is covered with smoke. Separate vessel for incense called naveta, because they look like ships. Incense is extracted with a spoon.
Cardelete and hyssop: for the holy water. The hyssop is a mallet with a hole for water to enter.
Chapels of kisses or peace-bearers: for people to kiss it, with a handle. As they have a lot of architecture, it changes with the fashionable architectural style.
Thrones of the Virgin: throne with the Virgin.
Cross: presides in processions, funerals...
Chalice: the most important piece, it is more slender than a normal cup and has more base so that it does not fall by accident. Carries the blood of Christ. Proportion, symmetry. Each part of the chalice varies according to the style. You have to look closely at the knots. Containers for wine and water. It was watery wine. They are placed on a tray or salver. Jars like those in the dining room but smaller.
Parts of the chalice (spanish names): it is divided into three parts. Base (flange or pedestal), astil (divided into gollete, knot and neck) and cup (divided into sub-cup/rose and cup).
Romanesque chalice: like those of the holy grail. Chalice of Doña Urraca of San Isidoro de León.
Gothic chalice: architectural structure, clearly differentiated parts. Polygonal Astil. Crushed apple knot.
Hybrid Gothic-Renaissance chalice: like the Gothic but with Renaissance circular base. Chalice of spoon, by the base.
Renaissance chalice: with an egg or vase knot. More rectilinear cups.
Baroque chalice: seventeenth century, acorn knot or thimble knot. Higher base.
Chalice Rococo: eighteenth century. Sinuous shapes, neck melted with the base. Pear knot. Flared cup.
About rejería (I don’t know how to translate it... grille, screens, bars...), they follow the architectonic style of the moment. As examples I’ve added the one of San Vicente de Ávila, Seville Cathedral, Chapel of Condestable of Burgos, Golden Stair by Siloé and Master Hilario and Pilar of Zaragoza.
As a final add, I’ve included a couple jewels made by Salvador Dalí that I really like. They are the Royal Heart and the Eye of Time.
