As the future success of Starship becomes evident we need to start planning. What could we build if we had access to the Moon? The next generation Starship, built at the lunar shipyards, will be unlike anything that could be launched from Earth. The concept of refueling an Earth optimized Starship six times to get one flight to Mars, while effective for initial exploration missions, will be proven obsolete for colonization. Better alternatives must be designed now so we will all have an opportunity to take part in humanity’s greatest endeavor.

The SpaceX Starship is not really a specific design or ship but a concept.
Complete reusability for spacecraft for hundreds of missions.
The Earth Starship is being rapidly prototyped and tested in Southern Texas.
Number 9 is on the pad and has undergone some testing.
Because of its importance to our goals, I have started a new playlist called Starship Academy.
As I start writing this early in the morning, I have a monitor permanently displaying the Nerdlecam Youtube feed put out 24/7 by the NASA Spaceflight crew.

It is vital that all of us who love space science and exploration support each other.
The lunar gateway is a concept developed by Boeing and others to justify continuing the development of the Space Launch System. It is a small space station to be placed in lunar orbit where astronauts will have to dock to go on down to the lunar surface in a lander. Many eminent space scientists, including Dr Robert Zubrin, call it the lunar tollbooth, and deride its utility.
It is in fact not needed to explore and develop a settlement on the Moon.
We have a space station in orbit around the Earth now larger than anything humanity will build for millennia.
All of the resources are there, just a few days flight from Earth...
