My awesome husband has pushed through his chronic back pain and generously completed a DIY drop-in table to fit my Janome 7700 sewing machine. The flush surface will make quilting larger quilts much, much easier with less back, shoulder and neck strain. The cheapest commercial tables not only are pressboard covered with laminate, but cost $200 plus a $90 acrylic insert to fit your particular machine. This was much more cost effective and looks like furniture; should last many years longer, too.
Probably not what you thought, but I finally remembered to tell it!

For the first time ever, I installed a zipper! Never too old to learn something new, right?
And my husband is going to make a drop in sewing machine table for me in order to help me make better quilts with less back, neck and shoulder pain.

Healthy, robust and ready to go to their new home soon, I am "weaning" them off of Mama Brandy's presence by short periods without her. That also reminds her of her former life and begins her transition back into her flock.

Just showing the eight little heathens that hatched over the past day or so. They're doing well, curious buggars and some are camera hounds.

Hector is 47 weeks old, a Barred Plymouth Rock from our new line, will soon be the sire of his first chicks. They are under our broody blue Partridge Brahma pullet and will hatch May 6th.
Hector matured faster physically than any cockerel we've had of this breed and until his brain caught up, we had some trials with his behavior, but his intelligence won out and he's become a very pleasant guy. If Hector hadn't been smart, he could have been dangerous, that's for sure!
Hector came from eggs sent to us by Jill Burk, a breeder of quality heritage line Rocks in New York, a surprise gift from a lovely lady who is a friend of ours from a world wide chicken forum. His lineage is Fred Fick/Guy Roy, if you're familiar with those names.

Though I said I wasn't going to do it, I decided I really needed to know what the score was. So I set a second batch of eggs, 5 Brahmas and 2 from Hector's hens and today was Day 9. What happened? Plus, my new Odysee channel is up and running and we shall see how that goes.

She's still with us at 9 weeks old, though her very short one-inch legs are finding it difficult to carry her increasing weight.
