NORTH Korea has urged ten countries to join it in its fight against the USA - warning of a “nuclear holocaust” if the hermit state does not receive enough support.
North Korea’s foreign minister Ri Yong-Ho made the request in a bizarre letter to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
He said: “I express my expectations that ASEAN which attaches great importance to the regional peace and stability will make an issue of the US-South Korean joint military exercises at ASEAN conferences from the fair position and play an active role in safeguarding the peace and safety of Korean Peninsula.”
Ri said the joint military exercises being carried out between South Korea and the USA were putting the region on the edge of ‘nuclear holocaust’.
His letter, dated to late March, continued: “It is a fact clear to everyone that when they deploy the means of nuclear strike that can drive the Korean Peninsula into a nuclear holocaust in just seconds - the nature of such exercises can in no way be defensive.”
Ironically the letter has been revealed just as Kim Jong-un bizarrely claimed North Korea loves peace “more than anyone else”.
The pot-bellied despot wrote in a propaganda newspaper this week: “As a peace-loving socialist state, the DPRK values and loves peace more than anyone else.”

A North Korean propaganda outlet on Friday, April 28, 2017 released an inflammatory video clip showing a simulated event on the White House, declaring "the enemy to be destroyed is in our sights."
The video comes at a particularly tense time in relations between North Korea and the United States, with the Trump administration sending warships to the region in a show of force against Kim Jong Un's regime.
Earlier this week, North Korea conducted large-scale artillery drills, showing off conventional weaponry that can easily reach the South Korean capital of Seoul, home to some 25 million people.
President Donald Trump, who has been urging China to apply pressure to North Korea and to act if Beijing doesn't, said on Friday there was a risk of a "major conflict" between the two nations.
The two-and-a-half minute long video also included scenes from the huge military parade that North Korea held on April 15 to mark the anniversary of the birth of the state's founder, Kim Il Sung, as well as showing footage of North Korean artillery and missile launches.
Against the background of missile launches, the caption read: "We will show you what a strong country that leads the world in nuclear and missile technology is capable of."
North Korea is known for its bombastic rhetoric and exaggerated propaganda, but it has ramped out its output in recent weeks as tensions have risen.
During a concert held on April 16 and attended by Kim, a video was broadcast showing missiles arcing over the Pacific and leaving a US city in flames, followed by images of a burning American flag and a cemetery filled with white crosses.
Simiar videos showing successful attacks on US cities were broadcast last year and in 2013.
