I never knew GE sold stereo components like this! It is clearly a rebadged 1980s Technics turntable, and even originally came with a Technics P-Mount cartridge. The quality of construction is excellent, and with an Ortofon OMP-5E cartridge and Akai receiver, the sound is very rich and bassy. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwUd5PE0ozk
There are no Long Distance charges!!! But plenty of erroneous backslashes. 1996 Silicon Mountain VHS EP tape. This was captured and uploaded at 720p60, but even after waiting for nearly two days and re-uploading it, YouTube is refusing to show it as anything higher than 360p, even though a shorter video with the exact same encoding settings was processed by YouTube to 720p60 almost immediately.

This simple little early '70s Lafayette Stereo-10A amplifier sounds great and plays LOUD! It surprisingly uses output transformers even though it is solid-state. The Akai tuner is also very good; it is part of a matched component system. And as always, my Panasonic cube speakers bring out the best of this setup; they sound better than many larger, newer speakers I have tried.

700 miles driven since the last fillup, and I still have 2 gallons remaining out of an 18 U.S. gallon tank. You can do the math while you enjoy the sound of VW's infamous "La Cucaracha" door chime. ;-)

The 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro was a well-equipped laptop back in 2008, and it still holds up surprisingly well today running the latest version of Mac OS X, "El Capitan" (10.11.5). In fact, I edited this video on it, using iMovie 10, which had no trouble handling 1080p HD video on this 8-year-old machine.

Every Atari fan knows just how bad the 2600 version of "E.T." is, but the 8-bit computer version is completely different, with impressive smooth-scrolling graphics and complex gameplay -- too complex for me to figure out on-the-fly, but I gave it a try anyway.

A comparison between a new 2009 JVC Everio GZ-MS100 flash memory camcorder and a 1999 Sony DCR-TRV103 Digital8 tape camcorder. Watch and decide for yourself which one is better. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages -- some immediately apparent, others more subtle.
The JVC uses a 1/6" 680k pixel (340k effective pixels) CCD image sensor; the Sony uses a 1/4" 480k pixel (290k effective pixels) CCD. Both are standard definition NTSC camcorders which record at 720x480 resolution at 29.97 fps Interlaced, in either 4:3 regular or 16:9 widescreen mode. The Sony was set to 16-bit 48 kHz audio mode to match the specs of the JVC's audio.
Yes, I know I spelled "comparison" wrong at the end, but I didn't feel like waiting 20 minutes to re-encode the video just to fix one letter.
