Kaleb House SITREP: We are currently providing advocacy (navigating court requirements and working with requisite state and federal agencies) and wrap-around services to 6 children that were sexually assaulted, ages 6 through 12. These services include therapy sessions, worldly needs like food and clothing, educational and community needs, and life skills. We are also working with one adult female to provide advocacy (state and local courts) and life skills training, as well as providing a temporary covering to allow her to heal and grow into the woman Yah created her to be. As of 8JUN22, progress on the KH site is as follows: -road repairs to the property, and on site have begun, though much more will be required in the coming weeks. -drainage remediation has begun; culverts need to be installed in key places. -an existing pond has been modified to create a spillway which drains into a second retention pond (1 acre approx) for which excavation will be completed today; spillway from the second pond runs into an existing creek. -existing low-quality buildings have been demolished and completely hauled off. -preparation of pad sites for the administrative building and the first care home have been begun. -preliminary site survey has been performed. -a new architect has been retained to finish the construction drawings needed to apply for a significant grant that, Yah willing, will aid heavily in the construction phase of KH. The next submittal period for this grant is 1SEPT22. -We have been in contact with a licensed therapist who is willing to provide the requisite services for the children within our care. -I (Bear) am personally funding approx 50% of the cost to send another missionary to SE Asia to work with the team that I support there that rescues and rehabilitates sec trafficking survivors. NEEDS: -Prayer! That YHWH will send the right people to build the team that will operate KH when construction is complete; and that He will continue to provide the will and resolve to allow us to be His hands and feet. -Funding for site prep and construction. Dirt and rock are expensive. Utilities construction is expensive. Building materials have increased 300-400% since we were first convicted to build KH. Architects’ pricing is insane.
