In June 2013 Senior Journalist, Kanwar Sandhu and Day and Nigh News (a 24×7 News channel) presented a nine episode long documentary titled Operation Blue Star -- the Untold Story.
This was first effort of it's kind to present a detailed document on the June 1984 armed attack by Indian army, on Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar (and other Sikh Gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states) on TV screen.
Kanwar Sandhu, being a journalist attempted to present his documentary in a well referenced manner, while citing due references to Government Documents, Police or intelligence agencies' interrogation reports, eye-witness accounts and other publishes documents or books.
This effort was different from the Indian media's portrayal of June 1984 events in many ways. At the end of this series Kanwar Sandhu left some questions and asked the audience, especially the Sikhs to deliberate on it.
Keeping in mind the significance of these episodes SikhSiyasat.Com decided to take up this issue in it's Talk-show program "Qaumi Masle".
Sikh Scholar and writer S. Ajmer Singh and retired senior journalist (UNI) S. Jaspal Singh Sidhu participated in these talkshows, that were conducted by host Baljeet Singh.

Mohali: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) of India here on Monday (March 5, 2018) produced 12 persons arrested so far by the agency in various cases of killings assigned to it by the Central government.
Jagtar Singh Jaggi, Taljit Singh @ Jimmy, Ramandeep Singh Bagga, Hardeep Singh Shera, Harminder Singh Mintoo, Dharminder Singh Gugni, Anil Kala, Pahor Singh, Parvez, Amaninder Singh, Ravipal Singh and Manpreet Singh were produced by the agency in a special NIA court of Miss Anshul Berry Additional Session Judge-I.
All those individuals mentioned above were sent to judicial custody till 3rd April 2018. Next, they all will be produced through Video Conferencing (VC) for their next hearing.

(ਯੂ.ਕੇ.), ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੈਬ-ਟੀ.ਵੀ. ਦੇ ਬਿਜਾਲੀ ਮੰਚ ਵੀ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਕੁਝ ਕੁ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ-ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਦੋ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਖਬਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖਬਰਖਾਨੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝੀ। ਇੰਡੀਆ ਪੱਧਰ ਉੱਤੇ 'ਦਾ ਕੁਇੰਟ' ਨੇ ਜਰੂਰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੀਡੀਏ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰੋਕ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਭਾਰਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਦੀ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ ਰੋਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਬਰ ਵੀ ਭੇਜੀ ਪਰ ਉਸਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਖਬਰ ਛਾਪਣੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਧਿਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਨਾਖਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਖਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛਪ ਸਕਦੀ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਚਰਚਤ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਰੋਕ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪੇਗੈਂਡਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅਸਿੱਧੇ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਸੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲੱਗਣੀ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ, ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਵੀ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਹੋਈ, ਇਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਦਰੁਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੱਖਰਿਆਏ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭੁਗਤਣਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਧਾਰਨ (ਮੁੱਖਧਾਰਾ) ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਖਤਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਪੱਧਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਸਭ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖਧਾਰਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਭ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਆਮ ਗੱਲ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵੈਬ ਖਬਰ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰਖਾਬ ਟੀ.ਵੀ. ਅਤੇ ਵਾਇਸ ਆਫ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ ਦੇ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਸਫੇ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਣੋ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਕਨੇਡਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਹਫਤਾਵਾਰੀ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਸ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਹੌਤਾ ਦਾ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਵੀ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਣੋ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਰੋਕਾਂ ਸਹਿਜ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਜ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਬਲਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਲਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਅਦਾਰਾ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਤੂਤੀ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਮੁੱਖਧਾਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ ਵੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਟੁੱਟਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜਿਸ ਰਫਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਵਰਤਾਰ �
