Focus MK3 Front Spring replacement (also Focus mk2 and 2nd gen Volvo S40, V50 and C30)
When I was replacing the front brakes on my wife’s Focus Mk3, I noticed that the bottom of both front spring have snapped. A common thing these days, but it can be done on your driveway with a few tools.
Ford quoted me early £500 to replace both, but I’ve done it for just under £100 and using original Ford front coil springs.
Please be very careful when dealing with springs as they can be dangerous if not handled properly with proper safety gear, conditions and tools.
This procedure can also me applied to the Focus MK2, as well as the mk2 Volvo S40, V50 and C30 as they share a very similar suspension setup and but may differ on the top mountings.

I'm getting this car back to roadworthy condition so, old fuel had to be syphoned out of the tank. i used a oil pump/syringe and a hose to extract the fuel... over 30 litres collected!
This car came from Portugal, hence why the fuel is so dark. to prevent fraud, they colour the 95 octane fuel with a purple dye and the 98 octane with a blue dye. this car had 98 octane fuel in it and it turned dark green with age...

Since I bought this car last year, one of the things that bugged me was the rubbish radio reception.
It didn’t became an issue im until after the summer when the commute got longer.
