Buying PC's & Servers is sometimes necessary to keep your workload ticking along, with scrap steel prices almost zero, it's important to not over pay for pc towers, also very important to look inside to see what is missing.
Check out my recommended safety products, Furnaces & stuff on amazon.. https://www.amazon.com/shop/ewasteben
In better times I was paying 45c kg for pc's, now it's 35c kg max but that;s for pc's brought to my workshop, this load I had to go pick it up and was a 6 hour job all up so I only paid 25c kg which is about 10c lb.
Advertising online is my best source of scrap pc's, most times I get it for free but places like e-waste auctions are another good source of computers.

E-Waste plastic recycling is difficult because of the different types of polymers that are contained within it so many plastic recyclers don't want to deal with it.
Thankfully I have a good place to take mine and ensure it gets properly recycled and the resources recovered.

Scrap computers are low value at best but especially when some of the good bits have been removed so probably not worth buying these days unless very cheap.
Still have to take into account the time spent getting them and scrapping them out so best to be careful when buying them, make sure they have the main parts like ram, cpu & hard drives.
But it's still a bit more stock for me to work on and would compliment the 99% of stuff like this I get free if I can get the price down a bit.

Street scrapping this Sunday was lean after the big day before, So many scrappers around today and not much fresh rubbish put out so we were all crossing paths in search of something good to pick up.
but this is part of scrapping and if it's something you enjoy doing then lean day's are still fun days, I still scored some good stuff to take home.

Getting free copper is easy, Just find an old microwave oven.
Scrap copper is getting harder to find without the old tv's around, but microwaves are everywhere.
I recommend this Furnace.. http://amzn.to/2wr7G2k (Affiliate)
It uses Propane Gas which is much cheaper to run with no problems like burning out the element and gives you better options for crucibles like stainless steal or cast iron which last a long time.

Pouring copper ingots is my hobby, I have sold a few on ebay at 6x the scrap copper value, so there is a market for hand poured copper bars.
For melting copper, brass, aluminium, I recommend making a home made style furnace, one that is bigger so you can use a large cast iron crucible that lasts forever, electric furnaces use graphite crucibles that wear out quickly when melting copper, this furnace is best for gold/silver melting where you don't need to max out the temp'.
There's no need to make copper bars if your just selling to a scrap yard, in some cases you get less if you melt milberry, a pure copper bar is graded as candy copper, or #2.

Next up is the Samsung UA48HU8500 LED TV, Better value scrap wise in this one after tearing it right down.
The LED boards are interesting, might have some value selling to project people wanting to play with LED's.
Plastic is the main product from ABS to various plastic sheets that could be used for crafts or anything where plastic sheets are needed.

Scrapping an iMac A1225 since I needed the front glass piece for another I have in my collection.
This one wasn't working and since they're becoming more common in the scrap heaps, I wanted to scrap one out to see it's gold recovery value.
Not a great deal inside and probably best to sell them even non working as like any Apple Computer, they do become collectable over time.
