The eastern Aleppo complex housing the state Eye and Children's Hospitals were occupied by Liwa Tawhid, ISIS and al-Qaeda in Syria at different and overlapping times. Underground levels in some of the buildings were turned into prisons for civilians of eastern Aleppo districts to be held captive after trial in Sharia Courts. Prisons included tight solitary confinement cells. Some prisoners were executed. Most corporate media neglected to mention the presence of these terrorist factions who had militarized the hospitals and turned them into prisons. June 2017.
