King's Quest I - The Quest for the Crown was a ground breaking graphics adventure, the first in a series of titles that would be released by Sierra On-Line throughout the 80's and 90's. You play the role of Sir Graham, and you are put forth on a quest, by King Edward, the Benevolent to find 3 items that will bring peace and prosperity to the kingdom of Daventry.
The game featured "3D" graphics, where you were able to move in front of, behind and "in" and "out" of the screen. The graphics, color, animation, and especially the music, made these games "Disney Quality" for the machines they ran on.
I hope you enjoy this slice of history

I've started a website to cover the back story as well as track the progress of the current and future versions of this game http://cosmicaliens.com
Here's a little more game play of my newly rediscovered 80's MS-DOS classic Cosmic Aliens! I wrote this in 1988, development continued through the late 80's and it sat on a shelf for a while. Later in the 90's I dug it up and added some more features but don't think those were ever released. This was one of the latest public releases the was shared on bulletin board systems, and I recently found on an internet archive.

Asteroids for the Atari 2600 was a fun and faithful home version of the iconic arcade game where you operate a spaceship in an asteroid field. You must dodge the asteroids, while shooting them into smaller pieces and avoiding all debris. You continue to do this for as long as possible until the game ultimately ends, then you hit the reset button and start all over again :)

I wasn't happy with not getting to a demo of an asteroids shower, which was my main plan for tonight, so, before I go to bed, at 2:30 AM in the morning, I managed to crank out a tech demo of what the meteor storm will look like! Enjoy!

In this video I will show you my current development CoCo BASIC development environment. The two magic pieces of the puzzle are that I'm using a Toshiba Flash Air WiFi SD card, configured to share itself on my home network, and a 3rd party tool from John Strong that gives me a full-screen notepad type editor and DSK image management capabilities.
I'm able to quickly write out my BASIC code using a full screen text editor, save that to the DSK image which resides on the SD card that is physically located and running on my CoCo/SDC and be able to load and run updates very quickly and easily.
While this is not 100% perfect or the complete holy grail solution, it's light years ahead of my previous process, and one step closer to ultimately using DriveWire.
To get your copy of the Disk Tool demonstrated in this video, contact John Strong via his email address johnstrong@hotmail.com
