When was the last time Chip? I can promise you it was long before you ever even thought of running for office in my entire lifetime. And I was born in 1983, folks in my entire lifetime, I cannot point to a single piece of legislation that was passed by a majority of Republicans that benefits average everyday working class Americans. Not one. I, I have to assume there is one somewhere in there, but it had to have happened when I was in my much younger days. And obviously not talking politics. But I can tell you in the 20 years that I have been working in progressive media, there is not a single time when I have come out and said, Hey, Republicans in Congress or Republicans in the Senate passed a good bill that's going to personally benefit you. Average everyday American. It hasn't happened. If it does happen, I'll talk about it. But your party doesn't do that Chip. You sit there every day and you think, okay, well can we cut corporate taxes today? No, not really. Okay, well, uh, we'll try again tomorrow 'cause that's all your party has done in my lifetime. You cut taxes for the wealthy, you push trickle down economics. And even Trump right now is campaigning on making his 2017 tax cuts permanent. So what have you done? You know, you can sit there all you want and blame the dysfunction, but at the end of the day, even if we didn't have that dysfunction in the House of Representatives, y'all still wouldn't be passing bills. During a speech last week, long before his bloodbath speech in Ohio, this past weekend, Donald Trump had referred to the Capitol rioters that are currently sitting in prison. Those that have both been convicted and those that are in jail awaiting their trials, Trump referred to them once again as hostages. Now, this of course, is not the first time that Trump has used that word to describe these people, nor is he the first politician to even use it. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been calling these people hostages basically ever since they were first arrested following the Capitol Riot. But there's one person who, for this statement, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. And that person happens to be none other than Donald Trump's former vice president himself, Mike Pence. And this past Sunday during an interview on CBS's Face the Nation with uh, host Margaret Brennan, she asked Pence about these comments from Donald Trump calling these people hostages, even though most of them have been convicted or pleaded guilty. And here is what Mike Pence had to say. Well, I think it's very unfortunate at a time that there are American hostages being held in Gaza, that the president or any other leaders would refer to people that are moving through our justice system as hostages. And it's just unacceptable. I was there on January 6th, sixth, I've no doubt in my mind, Margaret, that some people were caught up in the moment and that entered the capitol. And they're certainly entitled to due process of law for any nonviolent activities that day. But the assaults on police officers ultimately an environment that claimed lives is something that I think was tragic that day. And I'll never diminish it. Let's not forget that, uh, they were walking around the Capitol chanting, hang Mike Pence. And according to reports, Donald Trump was watching this from inside the White House and said, maybe they're right. Maybe Mike deserves it, is the quote that those closest to Donald Trump say he made. There was also somebody who somehow erected a gallows in the crowd outside the capitol. And, uh, we, we still have no more information on that. Um, I, I do think that's kind of the thing. Maybe we ought to look into that a little more. Like who built the gallows? Like who, who showed up at the Capitol riot with a bunch of lumber and a hammer and a drill and said, Hey, I'm gonna build something right here. Y'all step outta the way. I don't know about you. To me, kind of seems like the thing we should have some answers to. But Mike Pence is absolutely right about the whole, let's not call them hostages thing. And and I'm not even buying into however his thing like, oh, some people were caught up in the moment. That doesn't matter. You break the law, you break the law. It doesn't matter if it was a crime of passion or if you were just swept up in the mob mentality, you still did it And you should face justice for it. But, technically, Joe Manchin, his name is not on the organization. What it is, is his daughter, the former pharma CEO, Heather Bresch. And Bresch is the one who when she took over Mylan, jacked up the prices on all the EpiPens. I was. Was it it 2000%? I mean, some Godly. Yeah. I was paying $1,200 twice a year for a single EpiPen for my children. And so to me, whenever I talk about Heather Bresch, it is very personal because I lost thousands of dollars every year because of Heather Bresch. A lot of people did. And the point is just again, all right, well he's an important politician. Corporate media barely covered the story. You had to hunt the story, really, you had to hunt for the story. But the point is, No Labels, just so you understand and viewers understand, No Labels is just centrist blue dog Democrats that care nothing more than about how does Wall Street do. That's what it is. And it could be a real deal. People like, they might not like him all over the country, but the South likes Manchin. Yeah, they do. And conservative areas in this country like Manchin. He's very good on his feet. He's a threat. He really is. And up to about a year ago, he was actually the fifth most popular senator in their home state. Really? Wow. So, even West Virginia loved him. And it's not because, oh, he did all this stuff for us. It's because he did nothing. Because that's what No Labels is all about. Doing nothing. Yeah. It's not about, we've gotta make the lives of these people better. It's no, we maintain the status quo because the status quo works wonderfully for these corporations.
