In this Gene Autry film he is a ranch hand that has a good relationship with the boss and his little girl. The boss is shot by his partner Martin who is played by Bella Lugosi Jr. who has knowledge of a gold mine on the ranch he was keeping from the old man. During the shooting of he boss a fire is started in the barn where a cat has its litter. The little girl played by runs into the burning barn to rescue the cats and is run over by stampeding horses that cause the little girl to be injured and the cost of an operation is at $10,000.00 much more than Gene and the other ranch hands can afford. Gene comes up with the idea that he and his boys would do radio commercials selling Covered Wagon Coffee to raise the money needed. As it turns out the owner of that company has a cute daughter and in the end Gene gets the bad guy and the girl.
Not long ago I made a purchase of about 60 films that were part of a collection owned by Edwin Iverson of the Iverson Movie Ranch fame. All of these movies have one thing in common. They all have scenes from the ranch in them. In the near future including this film you will notice the film branded as Iverson Movie Ranch Archive. This place has quite a history in old movies in general but more specifically concerning those of the Western genre. Anyone that has ever watched an old cowboy movie or western TV series episode will certainly recognized the Iverson Movie Ranch.
