Interesting Otis M2 Modded 1989 Otis Hydraulic Elevator at Church Street Commons (Concord, NC)
Ya'll know that I hate Otis Series M2 mods, but this one hits different.
This one pointlessly modded a Series 1, but has some odd features. One being the EPCO OIP Lantern/Indicator on the 2nd Floor. It chimes up or down depending on the direction you want to go, it even rings before the car arrives. Inside it features a Green Indicator, a Green/Red Digital Lantern, a nice sounding motor, and a nice view of the Office Building. Honestly not too bad of a mod!

Welcome to Appalachian State University, a college that is a huge ass city and generally impossible to film every elevator here without coming back multiple times. I got a total of 11 elevators during my visit in August while helping a friend move into their dorm.
These were once Dover Traditionally Borings, and then got replaced with a shitty Schindler HXPress Mod. I think these were modded in 2021 and they ALREADY show signs of cheaping out. For one, the indicator on the one I got is glitching out and showing floor numbers impossible with HXPress like 12 and 96. Not only that, these are slower than molasses. These definitely don't run at the speed of 100 FPM like the original Dovers did. What a downgrade.

This has a missing Arrow Lense on the Lantern, which is pretty unsafe. What doesn't make sense is that they didn't put an Otis in this building, but went with a TK Elevator... odd choice. Besides that, this is also hella boRing.

Featuring JacksonSlater
Long time viewers of my channel know and love this thing. You can say this is an unofficial reshoot as this is more of getting Jackson Slater's first impressions of this cab (by the way, we did see the other 3 elevators, I didn't bother filming them though). He did film this, but due to potential copyright issues, he only posted photos on his video. I manage to get this one on camera for fun, but should've been filming when riding the Slow Otis Series 1 that scrapped along the cab, but thankfully that part is in Jacksons video.
Anyways, enjoy yet another "unofficial reshoot" of this cab!

Here is yet another set of Pre 1988 Dover Impulses! Sadly only one works for now. I think the other was disabled or turned off via the Run/Stop switch. At least one was working.
This cab has a lot of neat features, including being a 7 Floor Traction Elevator that still runs well today! The Impulse Chimes are very interesting, glitchy, and low pitched (very similar to the Modern ThyssenKrupp Chime) and has the "Chirp". This is a rather neat cab!

There was so much missed potential, like making this scenic or, you know, putting in something that isn't common.
Besides that, this doesn't run too bad. The outside is a bit beaten up, but the inside is holding up fine. This cab is rather tall too!

Featuring my friend, JacksonSlater!
Back then, this was a service elevator used for hauling furniture and was not meant to be ridden by the public. When Jackson filmed this months ago, an operator usually rides in the elevator. Now it seems that we can operate it ourselves!
This is actually my first time operating a Manual Elevator. It was a bit awkward at first, but I quickly got used to it. It features a sliding door and a Gate! Considering this is a service elevator and a Westbrook, this thing runs smooth as butter for the most part! The CJA Fixtures are pretty nice too! This is definitely worth checking out this beyond amazing beauty if you're in the area.

So story time: I came across this building on Loopnet that showed 1994 Dover Elevators. They had Impulse on the inside apparently, but they had Traditional on the outside, including the Rare Wedge Indicators, and they were traction, too. So then I come here and instead find out these were ruined by ThyssenKrapp a few years back. I was fucking pissed.
Oh, would you be surprised that this mod sucks dick? No? Me neither.
This mod is only a few years old and is already falling apart. The controller is super glitchy, as you can see that the buttons take a second or two to register the call. Sometimes, you need to press the button a few times to register the call completely, which is stupid. Not only that, most if not all the buttons feel like they are about to fall out already, again why BS/BP Classic is the worst quote on quote "Vandal Resistant" button to ever be shat out. This mod is fucking worthless, not even the TK (Generic) Voice can save this monstrosity.

Here are two interesting scenic Otis Elevators from the Late 2000's. I believe these are early Gen2's, but take that with a grain of salt.
Anyways, like the Coxe/Sears Alley Parking Garage, they made some Boring elevators into fun scenic Tractions! The left cab makes a bunch of weird noises, but both ride fine Overall.

FINALLY! After so long, I finally found a 500A with the TRUE 500A Chimes! Every other 500A I've seen has 400A Chimes, but not these.
This building and the other surrounding two buildings were built around 2002-2004. These 3 buildings have 500A's with MT with the true 500A Chimes, and they seem to be the only ones with the true chimes in the Ballantyne Area. All other 500A's in this area (from what I've seen) have 400A Chimes.
This set runs really good compared to the other 500A's around here! The clear 500A Chimes make these better!
