I stretch out my mesocycles as much as I can. I go to failure EVERY single time I lift. This is not recommended, but as I mention in the video, I can. I do. I've made the entirety of my deadlift gains in a caloric deficit. Most gains from 12% and lower body fat, for those that claim I bulked, etc. Yawn..
This cycle was all about moving towards peaking, getting away from pure reps/cardio of deadlifting and more towards one rep max potential. My theoretical 1RM is 535 or so. But you have to realize it and this will take time for your body to adapt to the increase in weight. I've just been repping the F out of 315 in this cycle until the last week or two.
On top of the PR's I've been making in deadlifts, my chest workouts have been on and off for the past 2 weeks. I mention in the video all of the other fatigue and pain factors going on. IT'S TIME that I actually de-load and let my tendons and ligaments have a break.
My muscles hurt, but it is just regular fatigue that you go in and out of. The harder tissues need much more time to heal than muscle. I'm smart and I don't injure myself, but there gets to be a point when your body stops responding to your demands. Today was that day.
Spend some time with me this week as we go into my de-load...... we will focus a lot on rep quality and ROM. I will have more time on my hands as I won't have to do 2 workouts per day, but just one half-ass workout per day for a week.
It's usually a somber thought ..... but I'm so on the brink, I relish taking this de-load so I can come back even more insane.
