Check out this bike rack I made out of PVC using lincoln log joints with constrictor knot lashing. This project was a lot of work but was also a huge success.
Enjoy this HIGHLY experimental method of putting raised garden beds on stilts. This is both to expose them to more sunlight, and to make it harder for critters to reach the veggies. We'll see how the experiment goes. These things are pretty heavy once loaded with dirt, so it's a bit sketchy.
I put rotten birch logs and branches in the bottom of the garden bed before filling the remaining with dirt and compost. This is called Hügelkultur and you can read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%BC...
I'm 37 and this is the first time I'm hearing about it! A good reminder of how dumb we all are. Thanks to my brother for the tip.

It happens to us all. Our favorite shovel handle breaks and leaves us in a daze. We cry, we ask why, we heap terrible vengeance upon the person who breaks it. Even if it's us. But avenge not! Watch this video to learn several complimentary techniques that will actually leave your handle stronger than it was in the first place. And cooler looking.
Assuming a somewhat clean break:
- Use Titebond III waterproof wood glue and coat both sides of the break.
- Press the fractured ends together.
- Use several pipe clamps to press the fracture together. These pipe clamps will stay on afterwards.
- Drill two holes, as small a diamater as you can, perpendicular through the fracture. Then thread in two bolts with lock washers and wrench things tight.
- Cut a length of ABS pipe and then cut a lengthwise slot to make a big strong "clip" that will act as a splint for the whole affected area.
- Finally drip some wood glue into any remaining cracks or holes around the fracture. This is not for structural purposes, but to prevent the elements from getting in an rotting the wood. This is especially important for Hickory handles. Hickory is a great wood for handles but pretty rot prone.

An old adage goes: "Apply Linseed Oil once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, once a year for the rest of your life." I personally say "a few times" for a fresh handle, then definitely once a year, especially towards the end of winter when wood in general is really dried out, and before spring humidity has a chance to invade.
How long each time? Someone asked in comments and I responded:
"...2-3 days minimum. The longer the better. I'd say a week is the maximum in the sense that it won't penetrate much deeper after a week. Diminishing returns kind of thing."
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but if you haven't been doing this, fear not. Your axe head is probably loose and wobbly after a year or two of heavy use, or even just sitting in your garage, but you can still use this method to save your axe from needing a new handle.
Metal wedges can also add some peace of mind, but drive these in *after* soaking. Hardcore old-timers are usually against these since they can damage the handle wood in a way, but putting a new handle on an axe can be a pain, so I say use them if you want. See https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/h... for a very good debate.
Besides linseed oil you can use various other polymerizing oils like tung oil, teak oil, danish oil.

I use a double overhand noose (or poacher's knot) to tie around the bottom of the handle and let it hang from my basement to drip dry. This is a slip knot that grips very well. See https://www.animatedknots.com/poacher... for how to tie it.

First we recap the part two video https://odysee.com/@Wizards_vs_Lizards:7/Nature_Of_Disease_Part_Two:3 where we go over many of the toxins people are unknowingly exposed to, the many ways the body naturally detoxes itself, and how you can aid this detoxing process.
Then we dig in a bit more to the ethical and scientific challenges (and even some impossibilities) of proving various claims of modern medicine and germ theory.
Thanks for watching!

Watch me roll the biggest boulder I've ever attempted. This has been my white whale over the past 2 years as I've pushed to bring Fairy Tale Trail to completion. I tried two other failed methods before resorting to my tried and true ratcheting method with the 20 pound iron pry bar.

After 3 years of hard labor Fairy Tale Trail is finally complete. When I say complete, I mean it's kinda structurally complete. I'll be working on it forevermore, just like any proper creative endeavor, it's never truly complete. But this will be the last video on the subject unless the universe compels me to make further drastic changes.

Plugging a drafty fireplace that we don't use. This is meant as a permanent solution, rather than something I might want to remove and put back occasionally. Basic steps here:
- Buy thick insulation board.
- Measure fireplace hole size.
- Subtract between .5 inches and one inch from your measurement so you have room for error, since the hole probably isn't perfectly square, and to account for the blanket wrap. In my case I subtracted .5 inches but .75 or even one would have been a bit better.
- Cut the insulation board on a cutting board of some kind, piece of plywood, etc.
- Confirm the cut insulation board fits in the hole, sanity check on your measurements.
- Clean up any insulation scraps with vacuum, get rid of cutting board.
- Lay out blanket, ideally squarish, that is at least a few inches wider (in its shortest dimension) than the insulation board's diagonal.
- Lay the insulation board shiny side down. This is the side that will be facing out. We want to reflect heat back into the house.
- Do a diaper wrap as shown in video. Nail each blanket corner to the back. Doesn't have to be super secure, just pinning it in place til we stuff it in. I used a hammer at first but you can just push them in probably.
- Before insertion I had to chisel off some jagged edges from the masonry. Make sure to vacuum again.
- Shove the diaper-wrapped insulation board into the hole. Carefully punch it in. Want to make sure you don't break the board with an errant karate chop.
- Take some thin foam insulation tubing and stuff up any remaining small gaps. You can use a butter knife to help roll-squeeze it in. Either the thinner business end or the thicker handle end can be useful depending on the gap size.

The culmination of 10 years of research in our labs, and top contender for the most beautiful and functional lashing system ever conceived. Yea so OK it's pretty cool. Here I try to give a basic introduction to the system, but please tell me in the comments how I can make this a better learning resource. The basic knots in the system are Impact Tightened (Boa) Constrictor Knots.
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn0m1... for my video on Impact Tightening.
Make sure to use quality paracord for this technique! I suggest https://amzn.to/2G2do37
