Today (for Friday the 13th) we are going to knock out one of our side missions and follow our treasure map. What is at the other end? I'm hoping for pirate treasure, but then I am a bit partial towards pirates. Let's play Solasta: Crown of the Magister!
Rimworld B18 | Do Androids Dream of Electric Beavers - Season 2 Episode 10 | Mellowseven Let's Play
It feels like forever since our last batch of androids exploded in a chain reaction caused by leaking coolant. So let's do that again. :) Androids, robots, living batteries, and revolutionary tendencies. What more could you ask for?
If you would like a colonist named after you, please leave a comment in "Do Androids Dream of Electric Beavers - Season 2 Episode 1" I will select names at random from comments in this first video of the story.

It's time. I think MercTech has reached a level of maturity and stability that allows for a reasonable attempt at a play-through. I've wanted to play the base campaign and into the Kestrel Lancers as one long series for a while now and I've been experimenting with various mod packs. I've settled on a reasonably "pure" run with MercTech. I've added 330's PIlot Overhaul for MT for the role playing aspect with our pilots; Prime 8's Botanical Splendor for a little more visual pop in the missions; Glitch Inspector's Camo Spec (YAML release) to add some fun in achieving the look we are want with our mechs; and finally I've added G3n.Zer0's Expanded Logos Seaphi pack for an appropriate unit logo. MercTech does require or suggest some support mods (MercTech Compatability Pack, Mech Bundle, MW5 Compatability Pack, and the Community Asset Bundle). All of these support mods are linked on the MercTech nexus page which can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/48
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is a first or third person shooter/simulator set in the Battletech Universe in which you manage a mercenary company attempting to survive in the Inner Sphere. There are two campaigns in the game. The first of which comes with the base game and a second which was added in the Legend of the Kestrel Lancers DLC. As the commander of the company you will move your mercs through the systems of the Inner Sphere to take accept contracts for the various factions. You will need to balance the finances of the company while also running one of the giant robotic battlemechs in missions, hire new pilots, and acquire new mechs and equipment so that your company can grow and thrive amongst the war torn future.
I am playing, recording, and editing this series on a ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU, 16 GB of ram, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU.

FM18 | PFK Montana - GM Challenge | Mellowseven Let's Play
This is a series I am really excited about. Let me set the stage for you. Our hero is an ex-professional football player who was forced to play abroad in Europe because of the lack of lower league association football in the United States. He ended up playing for PFK Montana in Bulgaria and was part of the team that won promotion to Bulgarias premeire league, the Parva Liga and managed to stay up for 3 years. Since then he has retired and moved into coaching. After paying his dues while working his way up the coaching ladder, Mellow Seven has returned to Bulgaria to relive his glory days and take over the reins of PFK Montana. The club is was just relegated back down to the Vtora Liga, but with Mellow Sevens return the fans are again dreaming of Parva Liga glory.
The catch... there is always a catch... is that while the board are happy to sell more tickets by hiring on a past hero to manage the team they don't really trust his business acumen. After all, he is a football player, and football players are not know for their brilliant minds. And so they hired a General Manager and have given him full control over the roster and non-coaching staff. Mellow can pick his own coaches but that is the extent of hiring/firing power that he controls. He must take the roster given to him and work within that framework, never knowing if his star player is about to be sold or if a new one will be bought.
This is our Return to Glory - GM Challenge with PFK Montana in the Bulgarian Vtora Liga. Welcome.

This is (as the title says) a first look at the game Deep Sky Derelicts. DSD is a sci-fi, deck building, rpg. You have a team of explorers looking for a lost Mothership in hopes of getting rewarded with citizenship. Exploration is Darkest Dungeon-esque with a map that you click on to move to the next room.
Combat is turnbased and uses a card system. Equipment and modifications give you base cards that you draw to perform your actions. The cards can be modified by your characters skills.
The game includes crafting (similar to something like Diablo) where you pick the item to build. If you have the correct recipe then you are able to byukd the item with stats and abilities generated at random within a basic template.
While exploring the derelicts everything requires energy. Energy for your life support as you move along, energy for combat, energy for scanning. Energy can even be used as a currency in various encounters. Managing and maintaing that energy is the primary mechanic for exploration.
The game uses a comic book art style with combat resolution shown as a comic book framed animation. It is simple but well executed and adds a lot to the game.
The game was released in September of 2018. Two DLCs have been released to date: New Prospects and Station Life. Station Life was just released in December of 2019 (about one month before i recorded this). As of January 2020, the base game is $19.99 and the DLCs are $6.99 each with discounts for buying a bundle.

Skald has released it's v1.0. I really enjoyed the early access demo so I thought we should dive in and see if the game can deliver on it's early promise. According to Microsoft CoPilot, Skald is an "old-school roleplaying game that combines modern design and a fully realized narrative with authentic 8-bit looks and charms. The game is set in a dark fantasy world, full of tragic heroes, violent deaths, and cosmic horror. Players can explore environments, interact via dialogue, engage in tactical combat, and develop a party of up to 6 characters."
It is a good game and the retro look is both its best and it's worst feature. The game play itself is solid and the storyline is good, but the Ultima-esque graphics are the party trick that are going to hook people or drive them away.

Tactical Adventures has released a new DLC for Solasta: Crown of the Magister. The Lost Valley DLC adds a new subclass for each class in the game as well as a new level 1-12 campaign as well as additional content for the in game Dungeon Maker. We will be playing through the new campaign utilizing new classes from the previous DLC and some of the new subclasses from this one.
Solasta is a role playing game based on the Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.1 ruleset. It uses turn-based combat on maps with a high degree of verticallity and a limited amount of environmental interaction. The adventuring party consists of 4 player made (or premade) characters and the occasional NPC or two. Characters manage faction relationships and can craft weapons, poisons, scrolls, and potions as well as enchant items.

We are back with some more of Harebrained Scheme's Battletech. We have added the complete game mod Battletech Revised Edition (as well as one of my own emblem mods).
Battletech is a turnbased tactical combat game based in universe with giant stompy robots. The game has minimal base building and some rpg characteristics. Your battlemech pilots stats can be improved and skills based on those stats can be chosen as the pilots increase their experience. There is a campaign story based mode as well as a general career mode that allows you to manage your mercenary company in a sandbox style of universe. Battletech supports modding with a built in mod tool but also with a more manual but more powerful style of modding the requires the use of 3rd party applications.
