Today we will discuss how various phases of a pandemic are used to manage/contain the illness. We will discuss how South Korea and China performed in these phases.
We will then discuss the patient monitoring protocol adapted by Jiangsu Province in China with great patient outcomes.
We will discuss the indications or contraindications of the following drugs:
Corticosteroids
Remdesivir
Hydroxychloroquine
Azithromycin
Pregnant Women
We will discuss the CDC guidelines for a pregnant woman.
Diabetics and Hypertensive Patients
We will also discuss the possible additional risk to the patients of diabetes mellitus and hypertension that are taking angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs)

COVID Becoming Endemic?
COVID cases in the US are falling. Some experts worry that we will get another wave soon as this is nothing but another two months cycle. Let's review the data and the state of our community to see how the future waves may look like. Terms related to vaccines are changing, let's review these too. And, there are travel restrictions being lifted. Let's check them.

Autoimmune disease caused by spike protein and potential management approaches
There is growing evidence that spike protein could result in anti-ACE2 antibodies. This in most cases is a normal (homeostatic) mechanism. However, in some individuals it can last longer and become problematic. Let's review the possible therapies in light of the pathogenesis. Educational material only. Not a medical advice. Please discuss these therapies with your doctor and follow his advice.

The human body and even its body fluids have divided into various fluid compartments, which, although not anatomic compartments, do represent a real division in terms of how portions of the body's water, solutes, and suspended elements are separated.
In this video, Dr. Mobeen Syed discusses that the two main fluid compartments are the intracellular fluid compartment and extracellular fluid compartment.
Intracellular fluid is the fluid that exists within the cells of multi-celled organisms.
The cytosol or intracellular fluid consists mostly of water, dissolved ions, small molecules, and large, water-soluble molecules (such as proteins). Potassium, magnesium, and phosphate are the three most common electrolytes in the intracellular fluid.
Extracellular fluid (ECF) denotes all the body fluid outside the cells of any multicellular-organism.
Extracellular fluid is composed of the interstitial compartment, the intravascular compartment, and the transcellular compartment.
The interstitial compartment (also called ""tissue space"") surrounds tissue cells. Interstitial-fluid provides the immediate microenvironment that allows for the movement of ions, proteins, and nutrients across the cell barrier.
The blood represents both the intracellular-compartment (the fluid inside the blood cells) and the extracellular-compartment (the blood plasma).
Intravascular-fluid refers to that part of the extracellular fluid that is within the blood vessels, i.e., the plasma.
Fluid intake and exit from the body occur through the intravascular-compartment. The interstitial fluid compartment and intracellular fluid compartment respond to changes in the intravascular fluid compartment.
The transcellular-fluid is the portion of total body water contained within epithelial lined spaces, such as the cerebrospinal fluid, and the fluid of the eyes and joints.
The composition of the transcellular-compartment is different from the other two extracellular fluid compartments.
The following topics have discussed in the video:
* Body fluid compartments
* Intracellular fluid compartment
* Extracellular fluid compartment
* Divisions of the extracellular fluid compartment

Antinuclear Antibodies and Long COVID
In this discussion we will go over a Canadian study about the persistence of the ANA and inflammatory mediators that predict long COVID symptoms. There's a good news as well that these mediators and antibodies reduce over time.
