How to build an industrial rustic stool. My wife wanted a industrial piano style stool for our computer area and here's how I built it. The top is laminated pine scraps and the base is made with steel pipe, threaded rod and some steel plate. The welds aren't perfect as I'm still learning this craft, but overall I'm happy with the way it came out and hopefully it might give you some inspiration for a similar project of your own:) Let me know if you have any questions!

Here is a link to my watch that so many ask about too. I switched out the original light leather band for a nylon one for most projects. Leather and nylon replacements can be found for 5-7 bucks. Timex Weekender http://amzn.to/2jHgMFG

Here is a quick start to finish demo of the magnifying lense from my survival tin starting a fire. It's January so the sun is not as strong this time of year but we still got a fire in about 2 minutes or so from just the magnifying lense. In the summer I've had results in less than a minute... although not a common result:) Anyways, hope you enjoy... thanks for watching!
Please be cautious whenever starting a fire. Ensure you have defensible space, a clear area, little to no wind and an ability to suppress the fire like a hose or extinguisher. I hate that I feel the need to even give warning... but unfortunately because of stupid people... it must be said. Thanks

Today I'm making a wet-formed leather belt sheath for my daughter. It is sized to carry a Swiss Army Knife, Ferro Rod, and fire tinder tabs.
In the video I'll go over wet forming the leather (6-7oz) using a mold, trimming and sizing the pieces, edge grooving, dyeing, stitching, burnishing, adding snaps, belt loop hardware, edge coating and finishing the leather.
And there is a bonus little survival adventure at the end of the video from our most recent camping trip. Which actually served as a lot of the motivation for wanting to make this sheath for her.
As always, thanks for watching!

Well, I've been interested in stoves recently and I figured I would make a "ultra super simple" rocket stove with no insulation out of some old fence pipe and some scrap sheet metal. I'm thinking of calling it the 'naked' or 'boot' stove due to the lack of shrowding/insulation. Here are 3 variations I made. They are certainly not the best thing out there but something I wanted to tinker around with.
Future mods would include having and insulated fire area like with the stovetec stoves, et,. I would also reconfigure the height of the chimney in relation to the feeding port... and maybe add of small grate inside the main chamber to hold the wood up a bit.
Anyway, I know it's certainly not the most technical design and a bit of a personal experiment but I hope you enjoyed and possibly garnered some ideas for your next project. Thanks for watching:)

Back to the DIY Travel Trailer project with another build! Today I'm building a Porta Potty / general storage cabinet for the trailer. This would be a great project for a van conversion, trailer build or for a renovation project! In the video I go over the basic framing with pocket holes, aluminum trim, counter tops, painting, hinges, hardware installation, and all the mistakes I made too! I hope it may give you some ideas or inspiration for your own project :)
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Here are my steps that I've taken to make a mead out of some prickly pears around my house and local honey from the mountains behind my house. The recipe is from Charlie Papazian's book "Complete Joy of Homebrewing" and was derived originally from Dave Spaulding's 1986 Arizona State Fair winning mead. This is my first time brewing mead so I'm not going to say this is the best recipe or method... but it's the one I used. Thanks for watching.

Today I'm making a DIY Aluminum Tailgate ladder for my truck. In the video I'll show how I cut the aluminum, welded it with a spool gun, created some custom brackets, and used some standard hardware to allow it to flip into the truck tailgate and lock in place.
And I'm quite confident some of you might be wondering, is it even worth the effort over just buying one? Well, I will address both the economics of it as well as my thoughts on how just "saving money" isn't the only benefit of doing things yourself. There's often a lot more to be gained from experiences like this if you'll embrace all the aspects of the process!

Part 3 of the Goat Project, building a DIY goat barn! In the video I'll show how I created a pole barn foundation, frame up roof structure, build a loft and goat sleeping platform, add the corrugated metal, trim with flashing/gutters.... and finish it off with solar powered lighting for both utility as well as a nice aesthetic appeal. The next part in this series will include feed storage, setting up the watering and feed systems.... as well as some 'playground' equipment.... and of course, GOATS!
Thanks for watching!

This is the first inaugural camping trip in the DIY Travel Trailer! In all, we travelled 700+ miles in the DIY Travel Trailer and believe it or not... nothing broke! The solar panels and 12v system were able to keep the Dometic cooler, charging station and led lights all in full operation during the whole trip! No leaks or any repairs were needed either.... but I did take about 40lbs of extra tools, screws, tapes, glues, etc,.... just incase I needed to repair something along the way;)
We are super thankful that all went smoothly and we were able to enjoy the trailer after quite a long build. And very thankful for you guys watching this build progress from a used axle all the way to a travel trailer. Join us as we do our normal camping activities.... fishing, foraging, campfire cooking, meadow golf, relaxation and more!
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions! - Joe
