Today the Green Renaissance team made our beautiful city just a little bit cleaner for the next picnic. Give Back to Nature. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZS8PMzag4A
When we are misunderstood and unsupported, it’s easy to feel alone, as if we don't quite fit into the world around us. But something beautiful starts to happen when we understand that our uniqueness is not a flaw but a cause for celebration.
As we learn to appreciate and share our individual gifts, recognising the beauty in our differences, we find a renewed connection to the world - similar to the harmony found in nature, where each element contributes to the overall beauty of the landscape.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, we come to understand that embracing our differences is a gift we can offer to the world, making it a more beautiful place for everyone around us.
The answer lies in bridging gaps, cultivating empathy, and revealing the vibrant tapestry of our shared human experience through the acknowledgment and celebration of diversity.

We are born creative beings. But as we get older, we lose touch with our creative side. Bizarrely, we have it stamped out of us by the school system, and we start to believe that we're not good enough. But by embracing our creativity, we are given an opportunity to express ourselves and in doing so, find ways to deal with anxiety and depression.
"Writing was the thing that got me through. It contains you when you are flung apart with anxiety." - Dawn Garisch

Walking along a busy street in Edinburgh, my eye caught a sign resting at the feet of a man sitting on the pavement outside a posh hotel. It simply read, 'I am a human being.' It stopped me dead in my tracks. Kneeling down to take a closer look, I struck up a conversation with Sparky. And what started as a quick chat, turned into a few hours together, while Sparky shared his story with us.
We need to remember that every person, regardless of their situation, is a human being with dignity, with a name, a story, a family and a history – like all of us. We're all human.
And if you ever find yourself in Edinburgh, go have a chat with Sparky - you won't regret it. You can usually find him outside All Bar One, corner of George and Hanover Street.

Mark Twain once said, “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”
With age comes wisdom, courage, humility, compassion and patience. We earn every line on our face because they reflect our passion, and show that we've done some real living. And we are so much the richer for it. Age is so much more than just a number!

In the words of Henry David Thoreau - 'None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm.'
Maureen does not believe in giving up on life’s pleasures simply because you think you are too old. For her, becoming an enthusiastic person is a choice we make. It’s a mindset. It’s an approach to life.
Don't set life behind you. Try new things and be sure to keep doing all the things that give you pleasure.

"That you can pin things down and stitch things in. If it's emotions or thoughts, you've made something out of something that was sitting inside you or worrying you." - Gina Niederhumer
Gina is a stitcher - a storyteller - an artist. She describes her journey through life via needle and thread. And uses her art to work through her thoughts and feelings, as a way of resolving anything that is worrying her.
