My electric mountainboard ran out of battery halfway to my first stop on a recent skatepacking trip. My testing showed it should have done twice that. So what happened? Well, as it turns out, even all-terrain electric skateboards meet their match with soaked, soggy gravel rail trails! I burned through batteries twice as fast due to the sloppy early spring trail conditions--and not even my AT eskate with 8" knobbly tires could cuty through it with ease. I finally put my Tesla Model 3 privacy screen to the test, by stealth camping in a well-lit walmart parking lot! I mean, technically I think I'm allowed to sleep in my car overnight there, but I didn't want to push my luck... and the best part about stealth camping with an EV, is how silent your exfil is in the morning!
