Spinda will use Teeter Dance to confuse everyone else except for the user. Vigoroth will use Slash for critical hits and Faint Attack for never-miss strikes. Linoone will use Belly Drum to maximize Attack at the expense of 50% of its maximum HP while using Headbutt to make targets flinch. Slaking will use Yawn to make opponents sleep the next turn and Counter to draw back physical attacks for twice the damage. After winning, you’ll receive the Balance Badge and a TM42 (Facade). After the king and queen depart to the afterlife, Rubicante will return, who is suspected to be the culprit of the transformations involving the king and queen, explains that it was someone named Lugae who was responsible for the curse. Edge will still accuse Rubicante and learn new moves. Before the rematch, your team will be fully healed, and then the battle will begin. If you attempt to attack Rubicante, it will counter with fire spells. Be sure to have ice armor equipped before you enter this battle to resist attacks related to fire elements. Sometimes, Rubicante can summon an inferno that does massive damage, strong enough to knock your fighter down in one blow if not up to level. Rubicante is weak against ice attacks, but if you attempt to use any, it will counter with its own ice attacks. Using fire spells will prompt Rubicante to use a revival spell that takes effect if one of your fighters fall in action. The counters will only take effect once after Rubicante adjusts its cloak robe, but waiting it out is still not an option. After the battle, a wizard, who is the grandfather of Edge, will come to congratulate your team.
