Aqua Quest Defender Camo Tarp vs DD 3X3 Multicam Tarp
This is a thorough comparison of two personal shelter sized tarps designed for outdoorsmen of all sorts: The Aqua Quest Defender Camo Tarp and the DD 3X3 Multicam Tarp. I contrast and compare their materials and features, show some possible tarp pitches, and offer my thoughts on the usefulness and quality of these items.
This is a close look at another personal shelter sized waterproof/water resistant tarp. This particular tarp has two things really going for it. 1) It is very inexpensive. and 2) One side of it is theremal reflective so if you like to build reflector lean to's or super shelters, this might be exactly what you need because it is far larger than any other thermal reflective tarp or blanket or sheet of mylar on the market. It is less reflective than a mylar space blanket, pretty close to the same but perhaps a bit less than a Grabber Outdoors All Weather Blanket, but it is far more reflective than the UST BASE 1.0 Tube Tarp.
This tarp has some short comings in the materials they chose for grommets and tie out points. It does not have the 3000 HH rated PU coating they claim it has (though it has been sprayed with a DWR) and this might best suit a DIY-er or a bushcrafter who doesn't mind having to overcome its shortcomings... such as it only has 6 tie out points on it and the hem is only barely attached to the material etc.

This is a comparison and discussion regarding a couple of excellent and nicely priced slingshots (catapults). I recently became interested in modern design and modern materials slingshots and these two were among my first purchases. I talk about using these for protein procurement (hunting) and for recreation. The FlippinOut Scout from simpleshot and the Pocket Predator Hathcock Target Sniper made by Bill Hayes are quite different from one another but I think both are very worthwhile devices. I contrast and compare some of the features, discuss the differences in the purchase experience, do a little shooting, and tell you weather or not I think these could be used for hunting small game. Both the Flippin Out Scout and the Pocket Predator Hathcock Target Sniper are capable and fun slingshots (catapults).

TIHK, makers of the Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key, have come out with the PicoPick which they are billing as the smallest lock pick set on the market. This was a pre-order item for several months and has now shipped.
I've had my Pico Pick for several days now and I'm ready to share my thought on this lock pick set. Also, I compare it to another small lock pick kit that fits in the pocket easily.
My favorite book on lockpicking no matter if you're absolutely new to the hobby or if you're a 30 year locksmith professional is this book "Visual Guide To Lock Picking" https://amzn.to/2LFwSgu
This is also an excellent book regarding bypassing locks, security systems, etc and is written by a fellow famous for thinking a bit outside the box. https://amzn.to/2l7KPcH
A lot of people recommend this lock pick set for beginners, but I'll caution that they're thick, so if you're picking European locks, they might not be appropriate. But for most pin/tumbler locks you'll find in the USA, they'll do. https://amzn.to/2mGF32l

This is an unboxing video of some items I just received from DD Hammocks. I got some new superlight tent pegs to replace a couple that I have lost. I got a Fire Piston to try out a method of fire starting I've never tried before. And, I bought the DD Bergen Rucksack. I am very excited about all three items, but particularly the DD Bergen Rucksack. It is the newest version and seems to have some big improvements. I've been planning to change my 2 day bag and it looks like this will be exactly what I was hoping for.

This is a close look at the GSI Pinnacle Canister Stove including a boil time and run time/efficiency test plus discussion of the size, weight, and dimensions of the stove. I bought the GSI Halulite Minamilist Complete kit including the GSI Minimalist Cup, lid, cozy, pot grabber, pinnacle stove, wind shield, and GSI "foon" (the "foon" is not in this video... for good reason). This kit is marketed to 'ultra-light' backpackers and hikers, but the quality of construction and materials rate right up there as excellent durable outdoor gear.

This is a tutorial and discussion about how I make fireproof guylines for use on the fire side of my cold weather shelters. Having a fire close reduces your options of how you can pitch your tarp shelter. Fireproof guy lines can expand the possibilities as if it were better weather and let you do some of your favorite pitches that wouldn't otherwise be possible with a fire. This option is not just fireproof, but also very strong and very light weight.

This is an unboxing, review, and comparison video regarding the Silky F180 Large Teeth folding saw and the Corona Razor Tooth 7" folding saw. I go over the specs and details regarding their construction and design as well as compare them to one another. I also do a demonstration of each cutting a couple of different sizes and kinds of wood to give you an idea of how they perform.
