East workshop garden area preparation Phase 1
We are stating the garden plot on the east side of the workshop which became half uncovered during the winter and spring wind storms. This resulted in weeds emerging over the last few weeks. This is prevented by the proper application of tarps that kill the weeds after they germinate. I also used clear plastic to solarize the grasses that took root last summer and fall which worked wonderfully. With the elevated permanent raised beds there is a lower pathway which allows water and ice to accumulate and hold down the tarps until they need to be removed in the spring. In the video, I use my green works battery operated leaf blower to remove water and debris from the tarps and plastic.
