The Marxist Dialectic is a wheel spinning in the mud. When used in conversation, it goes on forever, never coming to a point because the point always changes: thesis, antithesis, synthesis again and again. Dancing around the truth, never coming to a conclusion, hiding the light. The dialectic is a meeting that goes on forever where nothing is resolved. The Christian way is the movement of the Trinity, the movement of the beating heart. It is dialogos, the back and forth of a meaningful conversation. Conversation held in the spirit of charity, moving between faith and hope, hope and faith. In this way we discern between false hope and the hope of salvation, and bad faith and faith in Christ's death and resurrection. In this way we reveal Christ's plan in all things.

During the monthly Q&A on the Awakening from the Meaning Crisis Discord server. I got a chance to ask John Vervaeke a leading question about my exegesis of 1 Corinthians 13 and the theological virtues as opponent processing. I also connected it to discernment through dialogos. This is what John had to say.
