Connections:
- Retro characters that come from games that revolve around mazes and strategy in the 1980s, while being one of the first maze action games
- Both roam around in enclosed mazes while avoiding and defeating enemies. Also, they're very good at navigating mazes due to having experience being in them
- Both are one of the oldest video game characters they are still present today (Multiple games throughout the years). Coming before even more popular video gaming icons (Pac-Man came before Mario. Bomberman came before Sonic)
- Both are heroes that constantly save their world (Planet Bomber and Pac-Land)
- Both first started using a certain item of sorts to defeat enemies (Bomberman uses Bombs while Pac-Man uses Power Pellets)
- Both are portrayed as heroic and cheerful but sometimes goofy in their adventures but shouldn't be underestimated
- Both would train in fighting so they can fight upcoming threats (Pac-Man is staying at Pac-Master's during the school holidays to train in fighting against Ghosts. The Bomber Base is where Bomberman goes for training)
- Both rival a certain person that they constantly go against (Black Bomber and Blinky) as well as their gang (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Inky, Pinky, and Clyde). But they do help them out later on (The Bomberman Gang become permanent allies to White while the Ghost Gang still become enemies)
- Both have a family of their own back at home (Bomber Family and Pac-Man's Family), who can use the same items that the main protagonists use (Power Pellets and Bombs)
- Willing to help those in need from being imprisoned, taken over, etc
- Both have different names in japan
(Puck-Man and Shirobon)
Fun Fact: The original Japanese name was Puckman, which evolved from the Japanese word paku, meaning "chomp." Given the closeness to a certain explicit four-letter English word, a lot of arcade operators at the time were worried that vandals would alter the letter P. Eventually, "Pac" was suggested as an alternate name
- While facing recurring villians in the series (Dastardly Bombers and Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde)
- Both had traveled to different points of time twice (Pac in Time and PM: Adventures of Time. Super Bomberman 4 and Saturn Bomberman)
- Both are willing become friends with people who are considered enemies (For Pac-Man there was Miru (Pac & Pal) and Orson. For Bomberman there was Black Bomberman, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pretty Bomber)
- Both have a love interest in the series they fall in love with
(Pretty Bomber and Ms. Pac Man)
Fun Fact: In the credits of Saturn Bomberman, her head is together with Bomberman's under an ai-ai gasa (lovey-dovey umbrella)
- Both made a somewhat official crossover with each other
(Pac-Man x Bomberman)
- Both of their series have different canon's throughout their series
- They were rebooted for more traction but ultimately failed
(Ghostly Adventures and Bomberman Act: Zero)
- There was an animated series based on the games
(Pacman Hanna Barbera and Bomberman Jetters)
Best for Both IMO
