April 2 2021 - MANHATTAN, New York:
A man climbing up the awning of a Chase Bank in Manhattan fell about 15 feet during an Extinction Rebellion protest to stop #line3.
He was yelling in pain once he slammed into the sidewalk. After he fell, oil that he planned to drop from the awning began pouring out of his backpack in a dramatic scene all over the sidewalk.
An ambulance came and took him away in a neck brace.
Extinction Rebellion are a climate activist group who do creative performative actions for causes.
Information about Pipe Line 3 from www.stopline3.org: "Line 3 is a proposed pipeline expansion to bring nearly a million barrels of tar sands per day from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. It was proposed in 2014 by Enbridge, a Canadian pipeline company responsible for the largest inland oil spill in the US. Enbridge seeks to build a new pipeline corridor through untouched wetlands and the treaty territory of Anishinaabe peoples, through the Mississippi River headwaters to the shore of Lake Superior. "

July 7 2021 Manhattan, New York - New York City held a #tickertapeparade today to thank Essential Workers who worked tirelessly through the pandemic, "Hometown Heroes."
In addition to all the brave frontline workers honored in today's parade, I want to thank journalists.
Many journalists, reporters, photographers and videographers were out every day from the start of the pandemic. These people were out on the streets when most people were quarantined at home, when people were told to stay home because death rates were skyrocketing and the hospitals were reaching their breaking points.
Journalists went out to document what was going on, even when we did not know what risk the virus may be.
I filmed morgues, I followed funeral home workers and documented how they dealt with pandemic, filmed morticians, refrigerated trucks and interviewed people who said they may be infected.
It was a life changing year for everyone.
I made this video because I want to include members of the media in thanking the essential workers. What you do is important, and I love you all.
