## New Renderbeast GPU
After the lockdown induced supply chain problems of the last 2 years the "new" GPU for the Renderbeast finally arrived. Here's just a quick shot out of the video how the PCB looked after disassembly. Now the waterblocks can be installed, leaving room for more experiments with new thermal pads and finally getting this rig online.

One of the upcoming future projects is going to be the build of a high capacity 48V lithium battery bank. In order to be prepared and able to measure cell voltages with single digit mV precision, it became clear that the lab's multimeters may not offer high enough resolution or accuracy.
So we are trapped in the chicken - egg situation where we dont have good enough equipment to verify our measuring devices. Precision Voltage References to the the rescue then. But how stable and accurate are they? In order to help us and share what is learned with all of you, a cheap AD584 and a not so cheap LM399 "precision voltage reference" were purchased.
As you can see, so far (over the last 5 hours) the LM399 really wasnt worth the money...
This is going to be a longer experiment to see how far it can be taken, with a final video documenting the setup and results, so dont forget to follow, repost, share and like!

We are finally going to start our indoor growlab research environment to experiment with grow assistance, profiling and automation for any crop. The best term to describe this project really is: Software Defined Growing (SDG). In order to keep the costs low and repeatability high, we are using cheap off the shelf (COTS) components and will try to hack around in their controls to be able to control them via esphome, home-assistant and node-red to establish a full governing system to keep all environment parameters within the specified regions for the different stages of plant growth according to the profile we chose to run.
In this episode we are going to relax a little and see what other lose ends we can work on while the current production run is inhibiting further POD development but gives us a good baseline for what is done already during our first real test drive...
