Mic audio quality test
In the last video I showed how to modify the inexpensive Neewer microphones for much better performance. I this test I've cut three clips from my recent videos and roughly matched the gains. You can compare the sound of a Rode M3, stock Neewer NW7000usb and modified Neewer.
Focus on the audio quality not the words as these are short clips taken from three longer videos.

Listen to the audio samples on high quality 'speakers or headphones (video in HD mode) and see if you can pick the cables apart.
For the record I do recommend the use of quality cables, typically designed for pro use but recommend staying well away from boutique expensive audiophile cables.
The audio used for the samples is UB40 Madam Medusa, the 45 12" companion single from their superb and best album, Signing off
The home made cable is the cheap 'bootlace cable' with the hot connector cut and the signal routed via: A tarnished door key, a brass woodscrew, length of tin/lead solder, foil sweet wrapper, and metal core cable tie.
