天天平甩功 • Daily Pingshuai Gong Practice (Denny K Miu)
Many weeks ago, my 88 year old mother was suffering from insomnia, mainly from her blood pressure medicine. She is my most loyal student, always coming to class before everyone else. But apparently not enough.
So in addition to my daily classes which typically are in the morning, I had started a new evening session with her (8:30 pm PST, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) where we can practice in silence a popular QiGong exercise for 30 minutes to help her sleep and to lower her blood pressure, which is called Ping Shuai Gong (平甩功) meaning Swing Arm Exercise
For first timer, please search the web for “Ping Shuai Gong” before coming to class, look for the Wikipedia page and the demonstration video by students of Master Li. Feel free to ask question at the end.
By the way, in addition to sleep improvement, it has been said that daily Ping Shuai exercise can enhance immune system, improve balance, make joints and muscles more flexible, fortify muscles, joints and bones, enhance blood and Qi circulation, replenish energy, relax, calm and clear the mind, and sharpen senses.
