Cat essentials to bring: 2:02 Have you traveled with a cat before? Have they been calm during the ride? Well, we haven’t traveled much with Nugget before and this was our first experience on a LONG drive. Nugget has extreme travel anxiety and throws up or does number 2 on even a 4 min trip to the vet. We were terrible anxious when it came to a THREE DAY TRIP across the country! In this video, I go over all the necessities for the road trip and our experience in the car. We stayed at my aunt’s house plus at a hotel and Nugget was a great trooper throughout! I also talk about the necessities of a cat as you travel: everything from food to litter box to making sure they don’t run out of the car! This was also our first time trying a calming spray to try to make Nugget feel better. Note: I have tried anti-anxiety medication with him after discussing with the vet and I DID NOT like how he reacted to it. It was Gabapentin. If you have had good experience with it, that’s awesome and I would love to hear about it! Below is also a checklist for how to pack your car! - cat calming spray (pheromones or catnip, whichever works for your kitty) - 2 disposable litter boxes - new bag of litter (we used clay litter as it's easy to clean up) - litter scooper - tracking mat or paper towels to cover the floor for litter tracking - cat carrier with his favorite blanket and toy inside - harness and leash - blanket to cover the seats in case of accidents - pillows to elevate him if he wants to look out the window - wet and dry food - fresh water - food bowls - lots of treats - emotional support potato (optional for your kitty!)
