E-commerce is a rapidly growing field with a growth rate that increased by 13% this year in comparison to last year (source: Forester). E-Commerce webshops offer and sell products to the customers and steadily try to improve conversion rate and turnover. As the web is interactive, it provides customers a new way of interacting with products - consumer become prosumers, meaning that consumers create products by themselves using web based product configurators. With such a configurator, products get an individual finish or are built from different product parts in different settings to optimally meet the customer's needs. The visualization of those unique products plays an important role as it visually confirms that the just-designed product really can be made.
