A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Lombok, Indonesia, after a magnitude 6.5 already hit the islands on July 28th. A warning was given on August 3, that the time-frame from the 4th to the 6th would be critical due to a peak showing on the SSGI chart. Large earthquakes have been absent since early May. The last time a magnitude 7+ quake stuck is 161 days ago. As a result, we are now most likely entering a critical period (August-December) with probably two or three large earthquakes, around magnitude 7.8 or larger.
