I went back to Smythe lake in Daniel Island to do some more morning bass fishing. I brought my ultralight setup and some crappie jigs and micro soft plastics and managed to hammer a ton of big bass in about 2 hours of fishing. I left out most of the catches from the video so I could make it a shorter video.
Let me know what you want to see me do next. I've got some exciting news coming up next week, can't wait to do a big reveal!
Well after all my talk about only having one day to fish while in Florida I actually had a chance to get out again the next morning for a few hours. I picked up some more shrimp and headed back to Weedon Island Preserve at first light. I had learned a lot the day before about how to locate the snook in this area and it paid off. I found (and was humbled) by some very big snook but I don't think I could have been prepared for the way those fish can take off. I saw some true giants out on the water that day and the sound of them blowing up on top is still ringing in my ears!
I hope you all enjoyed the video, unfortunately that's all the footage I was able to get on this Tampa Bay trip. Hopefully I'll be able to go back again in the future and next time I'll have a much better starting point to work off of. Have a great day!

We went out kayak fishing to celebrate my birthday and ended up getting on a pretty decent redfish bite. We were out on Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina using cut pieces and live fresh mullet and throwing them around docks looking for red drum. We doubled up on big reds in the beginning and from there it was a lot of craziness and a ton of fun! We ended up landing a few upper slot fish, but my girlfriend caught the biggest of the day by far. She got her PB drum and made it look easy!
Let me know what you think of the video and I hope you enjoyed it. Have a great day!

I went out on the kayak again in search of flounder and whatever else I could find using live mullet. I mainly targeted docks and some oyster bars, but I was looking for absolutely whatever bites. I was out there for a few hours and had a fun time on a pretty short trip with a last minute big bite saving the trip!
I hope you all enjoyed the video, thanks for watching and I'll see you next time!

In this video I went out fishing at Breach Inlet again in search of some monsters. I decided to try something new and I free lined small chunks of cut bait around some rock jetties to see if anything big would pick me up. I caught a huge PB that was too long for my measuring tape I had on my kayak so I had to estimate the length at the time. Looking back at the video I think I probably underestimated the length just due to how much bigger that fish was than my old pb, but I’ll stick with 32” as my “official” PB length; hopefully I’ll be beating that soon!
Also, I do not recommend to anyone that they fight a stingray that big from a kayak. Not only was it super sketchy, but it was also a very long and miserable fight. I’ve never had my arms burning like that from fighting a fish, I was literally out of breath just trying to get him up to cut the leader! Not to mention the ray dragged my kayak (and my anchor) a half a mile down the creek.
I also caught a lot of fish that I had to cut out of the video for time’s sake, mainly puppy red drum and whiting but a few groupers and seabass thrown in as well. Not to mention a mystery fish that spooled my big rod in exactly 25 seconds! I have no idea what it could have been. It just ran so fast I had no way to slow it down. I’ve never hooked a fish like that before in my life and my only hope is next time I have about a mile of line spooled on my reel so I can have some hope of getting it in!
I hope you enjoyed the video and please let me know in the comments below anything else you’d like to see me do next. Thanks for watching!

I spent 3 days visiting with family in Southern Maine the last week of June and besides eating as much lobster as I could I only had one goal for the trip: to catch a striper AKA striped bass. My first exposure to saltwater fishing was in this same area as a kid. My great uncle was a charter captain and would take us out once a summer to go after big striper on live bait and it was always the highlight of my summer! The last time we did that was the last time I caught a striper and that was over 10 years ago, so you could say I was overdue. I spent every possible minute casting in the surf for the 3 days I was there and on the 3rd day the stars aligned and everything finally came together! To say catching that first fish was satisfying is a huge understatement.

In this video I ventured far outside of my comfort zone and spent over a week fly fishing the Maine coastline searching for one of the most popular game fish in the world: Striped Bass. Striper are aggressive, fight hard, and grow to be absolutely giant. The trip started out on an amazingly high note, then very quickly completely fizzled out. I fished hard from the beach, from rocks and cliffs, and of course while wading. Overall, it was an incredible trip and I caught some high quality striper and I can't wait to come back next year and try to do even better!

In this video I decided to take the kayak out after work to hit some new water and see if I could find any sheepshead for dinner. There were storms in the area but I decided to give it a shot and see how the new area treated me. I got on an unbelievable, crazy bite my first time fishing here and you better believe I'll be back!
I had some technical difficulties with recording on this trip so I apologize for that. The secondary microphone I usually utilize was out of battery and about midway through the trip I somehow managed to narrow the field of view on the camera making a lot of footage unusable. I think the video still turned out really well so hopefully you can all see past these imperfections!

I took my first shot at land based sheepshead fishing on a bridge I found on a recent trip. It was absolutely loaded on that day, but I was vertically fishing the pilings from the kayak on that trip. I had a windy day where I didn't want to take the kayak out and the bridge pilings I fished were pretty close to the bank so I figured I'd be able to get some bites from shore. I ended up catching a ton of fish including a nice sheepshead dinner.
I had a ton of luck using both the Carolina rig and the split shot rig. I will definitely go back and also try to find some more land based sheepshead spots.
Please let me know what you think of this type of land-based sheepshead video. If you want me to make a how to video about how I was fishing my rigs to catch sheepshead from the shore or the tides or anything else I look for please let me know
Thank you all for watching and remember to make time for fishing! Have a great day!
