Somehow the 'Salt Lake City Blues' session turned into a time-warp - I hadn't played this in 30 years, and after this I cut 'Cold Winds', which I wrote and last played in 1982. I should have stuck to my current voice, where I started, instead of trying to find my 30-years-gone pitch, but anyway, I was too busy trying to recover my verses from the recesses of my mind to think about where to aim the pipes. I wish I could have recalled the rest of my verses. One was 'They hauled me to the courthouse/And the magistrate he scorned me/"I'll give ye no mercy.../...nor this God-blessed land that borned ye"'. I used to play this a lot in the folk clubs, there were a bunch of them springing up in the mid-80s in the Bristol area. Then they sprang down again and became night clubs and abbatoirs, not that there's much difference in the two. I had hoped to start a Blogger, er, blog, for popping up outtakes, rambles, tryouts, on-the-spots like this etc on; but after pottering about for an hour I discovered they don't allow me to upload my stuff in ANY format. They will let me put a link in to view it on YT though, which is taking the Michelangelo really... I'm throwing my lot in with the Luddites.
