while zumo is more of an 'ears-and-eyes-dude', pinkon uses her nose to get to know new stuff
especially in the beginning of her outside adventures; she'd keep still, put her nose in the air and start sniffing with her eyes half closed so she can concentrate better :D
pinkon and her inexhaustible attempts to get zumo to play with her...
the good thing is that there is enough space for zumo to see her coming
and to get away :-)
big challenge for cats: being on the road
In this very moment, zumo was a bit nervous and confused,
but he was also positively charged with curiousness.
This interest was big enough that he quickly forgot his insecurity,
and turned to being more adventurous,
and went doing what he usually does when on the leash.
zumo does not mind his red leash (we call it his 'leasherie')
and usually he immediately starts to go for a walk like a dog
he'd go straight forward at a brisk pace and we have to follow him
it is more like he is training us to walk with him
than we are training him to walk with us :-D
he's so brave :-)
when it is not raining outside
and your cat comes home like this
that means there was some trouble!
"poor, poor zumo", we said, "you surely did not voluntarily take a dive into the creek!"
we checked for injuries, but he was just fine :-)
he must have been having another argument with one of the neighbour's cats
did he lose the fight?
we did not really care
we were just happy that he came home
all wet and cold, but in one piece!
we wiped him as dry as possible
and guided him to his nest close to the stove
there, he slept like a log untill he was ready to go on his next adventure
crazy old zumo :-)
❤️
pinkon managed to find her way to the top of the door
zumo showed her more than once how to get there :-)

pinkon looked as if she was very much at ease up there
so she settled on that small surface, as only a cat can do
from all the sleeping next to the stove, she had gained some weight, that we knew,
but because we see pinkon every day, it is hard to follow up
at the moment of the picture, it was clear that she is not a skinny cat
from this viewpoint she looked a bit like a pear :-)
we decided not to worry about it, and to wait untill spring
in the end, most animals weigh a little more in winter to cope with the temperature
so as long as her weight follows the seasons
pinkon is in the right :-)
