They had also been documenting their travels on social media, often posting videos and photos of themselves together. On June 19, 2023, Gariépy dropped Patoine off at a gas station in Prince Edward Island. He told her that he was going to go for a walk and would be back in a few minutes. However, Patoine never returned. Gariépy later told police that he had waited for Patoine at the gas station for several hours, but she never showed up. He then called her phone, but she didn't answer. Gariépy eventually returned to his vehicle and drove away. But recently, people have found some facts that are turning the case to another way.
