Would justice be served if they were allowed to kill themselves? Would most prisoners choose this option? Don't defense attorneys and their clients accept plea deals to avoid the death penalty? If a life sentence is worse than the death penalty, why take a plea deal? Humans don't generally want to die even in less than ideal circumstances. I read a magazine article once where prisoners on death row were interviewed about the death penalty. Most of them did not want to be put to death so how many would choose Euthanasia if offered? Can't they commit suicide now if they want to? Although they showed no respect for the lives of their victims, they still don't want their own lives snuffed out.
