I love these pots and have a loads of them from 30 litres up to 45 litres for growing vegetables. Although I grow in raised beds that limits a particular area to being used for months on end waiting for a crop to grow whereas the pots allow me to move the various plants around the garden to cater to their needs of warmth, shelter and rainfall. I got mine from Oakland Gardens on Ebay here: https://ebay.us/zZo2jG but they are also available in Amazon at a similar price here: https://geni.us/jaA4S Amazon prices tend to fluctuate so apologies if the price is over £25 for 5 when you're reading this. If you want a great video tutorial showing how to plant the tubs with potatoes then this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLna4I_ekP0&t=51s Thanks to Tony from Simplify Gardening for making that video....it's certainly better than what I would produce. *Above links are associate links and if you buy through the links Jeff Bezos may throw some pennies my way to help this Northern Monkey buy more outdoor gear and make more review videos for the channel*
This heated bodywarmer is so much better than my old one - it is extremely comfortable, warm and very well made.
As I am approx. 5'10" I went for the XL size to wear over a thin jumper / fleece and it is a perfect fit for me - a Large definitely would have been too small.
The quality of construction is excellent throughout and no stitching was misaligned or loose anywhere on the garment I received. It also has a self-sealing type of zip which is a welcome feature as those normally would be found on quite expensive waterproof jackets and trousers.
My preferred method of wearing / layering is to go for a thin base layer under a thin woolen jumper (or fleece) followed by the heated bodywarmer followed by a top shell of a Fjallraven Anorak No.8 (smock) and that combo works extremely well in cold weather regardless of the level of activity or lack thereof.
Even without the heat pads being active it offers decent insulation over a jumper on cold days but when it is worn under an outdoor coat and the heat pad are active the heat is very satisfying.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a hobby which involves sitting or standing outdoors in cold weather (e.g. fishing, photography, shooting, sport spectating) but I would advise not to go for cheap battery power banks to power it.
I tried 2 old battery power banks which did not work so I initially thought that the heat panels in the bodywarmer were faulty as I could have either the front panels OR the back panel heating - it would not do both at the same time.
It turned out that the cheap slimline power banks which were supposed to be 20,000 mAh were not very good because when I switched to the newer 10,000 mAh power bank the heat panels worked perfectly.
On full heat front and back I get a solid 3.5 - 4hrs from the 10,000 power bank and it fits well into the interior pocket on the bodywarmer. The one I used is from INIU and is called POWER BANK BI-B41 - it is available on Amazon (see link above).

I am super confused as to whether these projects were on Kickstarter or Indiegogo as my contact who sent the products mentioned Indiegogo but the links are for Kickstarter.....sorry the video is so long but it covers two products and is quite detailed.
As you will see from the video I'm very impressed with the inflatable sofa but struggling to see the benefits of having an inflatable tent.
If you want to check out the Kickstarter campaign the tent and mattress can be found here:
https://bit.ly/3v6uyG2
Unfortunately the mattress in the Kickstarter video was not included with the tent so I have not reviewed that - it looks quite good.
The inflatable sofa can be found here: https://aerogogo.micronovelty.com/
I've looked back through my emails and there seems to have been a breakdown in confirming what I was initially going to review as I mentioned the tent and mattress to review then the tent and double seat sofa arrived.
That was a happy accident as I love the inflatable sofa and it will get plenty of use - our garden is perfect for it.
Thanks very much to Micronovelty / Aerogogo for sending these products to review.
This is the nearest folding solar panel to the one shown in the video: https://geni.us/aGziAR and this is the nearest battery bank to the one shown in the video: https://geni.us/3PlO6 (it was a couple of years ago when I bought mine).
Please note: No payment was made to me for making this review so it is not a paid review or sponsorship. I never have and never will accept sponsorship or payment from any company for making videos but I'm happy to take certain products that I will genuinely use and give an honest review video on them.

In this video we will take a look at the first part of the vegetable garden.
It's a decent size and has two large beds approximately 8'6" x 8'6" with a few smaller beds too - all made of hardwood railway sleepers. None of those fake modern softwood 'sleepers' (which don't last 5 minutes) here.
They may be mega-heavy but the proper sleepers are there to stay. When I'm an old man I don't want to be fannying about rebuilding anything.....
It was a bit of a task making the beds so substantial and getting the filters linked up to the garden by pipes but it has definitely been worth it.
The mesh I used for the crop protection can be found here: https://ebay.us/jb9FlJ
and the woven landscape fabric can be found here: https://ebay.us/T6xJTz
Other versions of protection mesh and landscape fabric are available but I chose these types as I know they last. No point wasting credits in the bank on stuff which doesn't last....
If you have eyes to see now is the time to save up and take action to be self-reliant and more self-sufficient. As I am not blind to what goes on behind the headlines I've had the luxury of being able to save up over a few years for these projects but nothing is more important than self-reliance and learning new skills since skills are (or soon will be) the new currency.
Money well spent. Fake 'money' exchanged for something of real value - that's a great deal.

This is an update for my greenhouse project to show how the tomatoes, chillis and other plants are doing.
As mentioned in the video here are the links to the things I was talking about:
5cm (2") perforated pots: https://ebay.us/VixC11
Clip on grow lights: https://ebay.us/CBOyPg
USB 4-way splitter: https://geni.us/wmOJ
Grow light tubes: https://ebay.us/VUc4w7
Everything in here is doing very well but the growing towers are taking some getting used to. There is so little information online about how to grow various plants in vertical towers that it's proving quite difficult to get it right ......but I'm getting there.
I have enough equipment left to make some horizontal growing tubes in a kind of NFT type set up so that will be a project I'll do later in the year when the peppers and chilli plants have finished cropping.
As this is my first full year growing anything I will be making mistakes so please don't take anything I say as gospel.
Thanks for watching.
Happy Gardening,
Richard

A class goal from my son James in the 2024 play-off final. He beat 4 players before lobbing the keeper from 35 - 40 yards.
Loughborough Students demolished Skegness Town with a 7 goal hammering and a great team performance - this was the final goal (in extra time) which capped a great afternoon for the team who had 7 different scorers.
Goals were scored by Edwards, Spiteri, O'Toole, Wicks, Bangura, Morales and Thew.
Everyone connected with the club has worked so hard this season and this is the reward.
Unfortunately I couldn't be there to see the game but from the clips James sent me all the goals were bangers.
Well done lads and best of luck in your new division.

Wild strawberries are amazing - they grow anywhere, they taste great and they produce fruit way longer than cultivated varieties.
Next season I will be planting them everywhere I currently have cultivated types of strawberries.
If you can't find any in the wild or don't want to dig up any from the wild people sell the plants online: https://ebay.us/Fjovzv
.......and you can plant them any time of the year.
Also known as Alpine Strawberry and Woodland Strawberry.

Volcann BBQ on Amazon (mild steel): https://geni.us/PnhVE
Larger size on Amazon (mild steel): https://geni.us/jlFv9lE
Larger size on Ebay (mild steel): https://ebay.us/95645C
Stainless steel version (the one I have): https://ebay.us/4Vm5C5
This is a really great grill and as you can see it is easily big enough to cook 4 burgers and 8 sausages which would be fine for a family of 4 unless they are gigantic 'human whale' beasts. If so then there is a larger version available.
The version I have is stainless steel but there is also a mild steel version available which would need to be cleaned and oiled regularly to prevent rust.

#shorts Skye is an amazing place to visit. It is located high up off the West coast of Scotland and I could happily live there. The seas are rich, the weather swings from perfect to extreme and the light is magical.
Added to that it's one of the best places in the UK to see the Northern Lights - it's a very special island.
The Old Man of Storr is a huge natural standing stone and is located a few miles North of Portree and is accessible by walking a mile or so up a steep path into a picturesque mountain range with rugged mountains acting as a backdrop. This location was used in the 2017 Ridley Scott film 'Alien Covenant' where the protagonists entered a cave to find an ancient painting depicting historic contact with alien visitors. That was a studio set but the scenery prior to entering the cave was real and is incredible. The shifting light, changeable weather and special views makes it a very worthwhile hike.
It's probably too much of a climb for mega-fat beasts but for people who haven't lost their feet through diabetes it will take a good 1.5 hours or so to traverse the steep footpath up to where the best views are. We saw many rotund hikers turning around half way up the mountain and I feel their pain since I'm 50 and not exactly in peak physical condition but myself and my wife loved the climb - we took our time and headed around the back of the Storr and up to the elevated viewing point since the views from there are even better.
The Old Man of Storr is 50 metres (164 feet) high and it dwarfs anyone standing near it.
We were very lucky with the weather and in early April we had 2 perfect sunny days. The days we traveled to and from Skye it was dull and colder so we timed it well.

This was a hunt which started well and got much better as I stumbled upon a few new places which were laden with Boletus Edulis.
The hunt after this is even better and the one after that was shared with a good friend who also filled his basket with top quality Boletus - 3 short hunts have yielded well over 20kg of this valuable fungus and I've now got all of them dried and stored in mason jars......ready for the 'Dark Winter'.
The over-ripe Ceps were taken back to the woods a day later and scattered around in likely looking places in the hope of spreading these awesome fungi further around my local area.

On a serious note, it is very important to learn as many 'outdoor' skills as you can since you never know when you need them.
Having knowledge of natural environments, shooting, trapping, fishing and foraging are literally life-saving skills since without them we die when the current system of on-demand food and easy shopping goes away.....and it will go away at some point - do you want to be the guy fighting a hungry 300lb man-monster or a flabby blue-haired screamer for the last packet of Super Noodles in a ransacked supermarket or do you want to be prepared?
Do you want your pronouns to be Was / Were? ........ nope.
It's a simple choice.
Knowledge is power but we're 'educated' to exist in the system without being taught what the system is and how to navigate the (obvious) pitfalls.
Knowledge costs nothing and can be carried in the mind, given away for free and used to combat ignorance - it's a great deal but takes time and effort to learn useful skills.
Foraging is most definitely one of those useful skills.

Both Odysee and Rumble have new videos uploaded to them as soon as they upload on YouTube.
