ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
Welcome to My Mum Makes! I’ve started this channel as a creative outlet to share my sewing projects online. I’ve loved to sew since my Mum taught me as a little girl and I find it relaxing, productive and fun. I love the chance to make things for my kids, myself and our home and I want you to feel motivated to give sewing a try and get creative. I think creativity is good for us especially as Mums. We can get so stuck in our everyday repetition, but spending some me-time creating something is a great way to unwind, prioritise our needs and use our brains in a different way to the everyday. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @mymummakes.marie to see more of what I’m up to.

My two girls have been working hard at learning to stop sucking their thumbs and it is a difficult habit to break. In today's video I'm showing you how I made a thumb guard to prevent thumb sucking and it really does work! I'm proud to say that Isabelle has now completely stopped sucking her thumb and we're so glad that I took the time to sew a thumb sock like this to help her remember to not thumb suck. Sewing a thumb guard is non invasive and effective so I definitely recommend you having a go to support any thumb suckers in your life.
