Godslayer - Part 7 - the Battle Box
Finally the rest of Godslayer ships after a 2 year wait from the cancelled kickstarter. This excellent fantasy battle rule set comes with some lovely 32mm miniatures, I do a quick unboxing and light review of the two player battle box.
With my move away from wargaming is this game good enough to hook me back in? Well yes and no. As I say in the video, this game is amazing for dedicated mini wargaming players. The rules are really good and the assembled minis do look nice. Great rules, pretty minis but I am not sure I want the hassle of assembling and painting minis these days. I find it very annoying that the box comes with no assembly instructions. I am also missing several bases and cards, a support ticket has gone off the Megalith, I will try to do a follow on vid once these issues have been resolved.

In this video I look at the Norway based dark horror rpg 'Vaesen'.
With the T2k 4e Kickstarter I grabbed some other free league game books. This game comes in a gorgeous hardback and has a great lite weight system for play that focusses on the story and not the rulebook. Using just a d6 this MYZ game combines Call of Cthulhu, Victorian era and Witcher style elements.

I continue to look at PF2e Beginner's Box, it a jam packed high value product. The rules are well presented, explained and make logical sense.
I have some personal bias that make me nervous re PF2e but that doesn't stop me enjoying reading and considering running a game session with my players.

So I'm continuing to learn about 3d printing, still having a few issues but its all part of the learning process. Had the printer for about 2 months now but only actually printed for 3 to 4 days worth of time.
Current projects are to get some gaming pieces for Board games and Dungeon crawls printed and painted. Still using my cheap PLA that came with the printer, the roll is getting low but I reckon it has a fair few runs left to go.
Things to do to the Anet:
Fine tune adjustment of the bed level
Work on bed adhesion - tape overlap might be an issue
Stop moving printer - throws alignment out [hopefully sorted]
Tweak Cura settings for more quality and less errors
Print/Fit mods to improve the A8
Check belt tension after 100 hours of actual printing

Following on from my un-boxing I present you with my shakey cam Review / Overview of the game.
Due to an editing mishap I don't fully cover the powers of the Gangsters or the spaces-
In the Gangster phase "Crew", you can activate the space of the gangster to trigger game effects. Also I made a brain error on making a move, however I rolled the Capo ring which always a success. Please see the rules PDF and the FAQ thread for proper guidance on how to play this game.
exact rule is:
1. The player rolls the Move die and adds the result to the Respect
printed on the card of the Gangster making the move. (The Position
Respect bonus is NOT added.)
2. If the total sum is greater than the position number of the target's
position, the player succeeds. Otherwise it is considered a failure.
A roll showing a Ring always succeeds, and a roll of a dagger is always a failure,
and also kills the Gangster attempting to make the move.

A quick look at the new Noir inspired RPG from Osprey Games, 'Hard City'.
The task resolution system uses two dice pools built from a list of positive and negative factors, the highest 'surviving' die roll creating your level of success. The book seems to include lots of background material and advice on actually running a game of Hard City as well as two adventures.
Great for those who like a fairly simple and light touch game, watch out those who seek uber crunchiness, it is a decent quality product for a fair price and should play well at the table.

Medici is a classic game of auctions and careful bidding. In this Card Game version, Reiner Knizia has taken the essence of that and boiled it down into a fantastic push your luck card game without an auction phase.
Reveal 1, 2 or 3 cards - you must take the last card on the row! You are trying to collect sets for the Phase 2 scoring but also trying to collect high value cards for the Phase 1 scoring. Whoever has the most coins wins the game after 3 rounds.
I quickly unbox, review the components, take a look at the flow of play and make a light review of this new game from Grail games
Clarifications:
Cards without goods (the green 2 and the black 7) are not stored in the warehouse, and so are returned to the box and are out of the game.
I didn't do Phase 2 scoring, I should have done so to show the total score for both players. I think it ends up at about 40 vs 35 florins after the first round.
Official Commodities are grain, spice, fur, dye, and
cloth. NB - any number of green cards can be loaded onto a ship, as these do not require a loading space

As a lapsed Magic player I decided to get into some card games again, my current favorites are Luck and Logic and FORCE OF WILL. As such I snagged some starters including this "fixed set" using the Sega Vingolf background.
I apologize for my Magic terms creeping into the video rather than the official FoW game terms. Also holding a camera in one hand and filming is tricky - tripod options being looked into.
So enjoy my "short" video of a Force of Will Noob opening a box, making comments about cards and makes some mistakes.
