On Sept. 12, 1861, Maj. Gen. Sterling Price arrived with advanced proportions of his Missouri State Guard. The size of Price's army was approximately 15,000. Awaiting him were 3,500 Union soldiers commanded by Col. James Mulligan of the Illinois Irish Brigade. His troops had been preparing for conflict by building a complex maze of pits and double-row trenches. Mulligan received orders to hold Lexington at all hazards. Although he knew Price had superior numbers and ammunition, Mulligan was confident that he would receive the reinforcements he had requested. E3 Is Dead for Good The day the Electronic Entertainment Expo died. #e3 #gamingvideocreator “After more than two decades of serving as a central showcase for the video game industry, ESA has decided to end E3,” the statement reads. “ESA remains focused on advocating for ESA member companies and the industry workforce who fuel positive cultural and economic impact every day.” In March, IGN reported that almost a year after announcing its return, the ESA had cancelled 2023's E3. At the time, the ESA said the 2023 version "simply did not garner the sustained interest necessary to execute it in a way that would showcase the size, strength, and impact of our industry." It did not mention undertaking the show again in future years.
