The painting started off as a pour, which I then enhanced. Some say it is calming, and spiritual while others have said that they see a storm. Which do you see?

Receiving rejection for your art submissions can be disheartening, but it's important to remember that rejection is a common experience for artists. Here are some steps you can take when your art submissions have been rejected:
1. Allow yourself to feel disappointed: It's normal to feel upset or frustrated when your work is rejected. Acknowledge your emotions and give yourself permission to feel disappointed. It's a natural part of the creative journey.
2. Seek feedback: If possible, reach out to the organization or person who rejected your submission and ask for constructive feedback. Understanding why your work was rejected can help you identify areas for improvement and grow as an artist. Remember to approach this feedback with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
3. Reflect on your work objectively: Take a step back and objectively evaluate your art. Consider aspects such as technique, concept, presentation, and overall quality. Are there any areas that could be improved? Assessing your work critically can help you identify strengths and weaknesses.
4. Keep creating: Rejections should not discourage you from continuing to create art. Use rejection as motivation to refine your skills and develop your artistic voice. Embrace the opportunity to experiment with new techniques or themes. Remember that artistic growth is a continuous process.
5. Network and seek opportunities: Connect with other artists, attend art events, and join artist communities. Engaging with fellow artists can open doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and exhibitions. Stay informed about open calls, art competitions, and grants that align with your artistic goals.
6. Develop a thick skin: Rejections are a part of the artistic journey, and even renowned artists have faced numerous rejections. Cultivate resilience and develop a thick skin. Use each rejection as a chance to learn and improve rather than as a reflection of your self-worth as an artist.
7. Celebrate your successes: While rejection can be challenging, it's important to acknowledge and celebrate your achievements along the way. Focus on the positive experiences, such as exhibitions where your work was accepted or positive feedback you received. Recognizing your accomplishments can provide the motivation to keep pursuing your artistic goals.
Remember, art is subjective, and one rejection does not define your talent or potential as an artist. Keep creating, exploring, and evolving, and with persistence and dedication, you'll increase your chances of finding success in the art world.

Using black, white, and silver in a painting can have a profound impact on the overall composition and visual appeal. Here are the top three reasons why artists often incorporate these colors into their artwork:
1. Elegance and Timelessness: Black, white, and silver are classic colors associated with elegance, sophistication, and timelessness. When used together or individually, they create a sense of refinement and simplicity in the artwork. The monochromatic or grayscale palette exudes a certain level of sophistication that can be both striking and captivating to the viewer. Whether in abstract or representational art, these colors add a touch of class and enduring appeal.
2. Contrast and Drama: The stark contrast between black and white, accentuated by the shimmering silver, creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The bold contrast adds drama and visual interest to the painting, drawing the viewer's attention to specific elements or focal points. The combination of these colors can evoke strong emotions and moods, making the artwork more engaging and thought-provoking.
3. Versatility and Symbolism: Black, white, and silver are highly versatile colors that can be used to convey various meanings and emotions in art. Black is often associated with mystery, power, and depth, while white represents purity, clarity, and innocence. Silver, with its metallic allure, symbolizes modernity, grace, and refinement. Artists can use these colors to create complex narratives, explore contrasts in life, and communicate profound concepts and themes.
Moreover, these colors work well with various artistic styles and mediums, from abstract and contemporary to realistic and traditional. They can be applied with different techniques, such as layering, blending, or even incorporating metallic paints to add a subtle shimmer to the artwork.
In conclusion, the use of black, white, and silver in a painting brings elegance, drama, and versatility to the artwork. Whether used individually or in combination, these colors have the power to elevate the visual impact of the painting and convey a range of emotions and meanings, making them a popular choice among artists seeking to create compelling and timeless art pieces.
