Heinrich Kubis was the world’s first air-steward and was on duty aboard the Hindenburg when it burst into flames. He managed to survive by jumping out of a window just before the craft hit the ground. Since then “cabin boys” were employed to serve food on flights and twenty years later, the first female stewardess was hired. In just 6 years, female hostesses had all but taken over the role. Think of it as the Swiss Army Mobile Home. It travels as an innocuous-looking trailer, but opens up into something spectacular whenever you get where you’re going. 1. Keret House
Keret House is a structure and art installation in Warsaw, Poland. It was designed by the architect Jakub Szczęsny through the architecture firm Centrala. The two-story art installation was named after Israeli writer and filmmaker Etgar Keret, who was the building's first tenant. Keret plans to give the house to a colleague after he moves out. The building measures 92 centimetres (3.02 ft) at its narrowest point and 152 centimetres (4.99 ft) at its widest point.
2. House with a Slide
The 1,762 square-foot Nakameguro home designed by Japanese Studio LEVEL Architects is located in Meguro-ku, one of the municipalities of Tokyo, Japan.
The three story residence is equipped with a slide integrated into it that connects all three floors.
A staircase wraps around one side of the rectangular house and the slide encircles the other, giving the residents the option to descend by the stairs or by slide.
3.Dick Clark’s Flintstones Inspired Home in Malibu
Television legend Dick Clark is selling his one-of-a-kind residence in Malibu for $3.5 million. The single-story structure with it’s rocky interior looks just like the home of Fred and Wilma from the classic 60′s cartoon.
4. Simon Dale's Hobbit House
Fed up with huge mortgage payments, Simon Dale decided to take matters into his own hands – literally.
Armed with only a chisel, a chainsaw and a hammer, the 32-year-old moved his family to a hillside in Wales and started digging.
The result is a wooden eco-home – constructed in four months and costing just £3,000 – which would look perfectly at ease alongside the Hobbit houses in The Lord Of The Rings.

This Tokyo house by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto has hardly any walls and looks like scaffolding.
House NA has three storeys that are subdivided into many staggered platforms.
The few walls that do exist are mostly glass, making certain spaces secure without adding privacy.
6. Brooklyn Clock Tower Home
Located in the trendy DUMBO (down under the Manhattan bridge overpass) neighbourhood of Brooklyn, New York is One Main Street; a 126-unit loft conversion by David Walentas (creator of the DUMBO neighbourhood) in 1998. The former cardboard box factory was originally built in 1915 and features a beautiful clock tower.
7. House On a Rock, Serbia
A house built on a rock on the river Drina is seen near the western Serbian town of Bajina Basta, about 160km (99 miles) from the capital Belgrade May 22, 2013. The house was built in 1968 by a group of young men who decided that the rock on the river was an ideal place for a tiny shelter, according to the house's co-owner, who was among those involved in its construction.

If you’re planning a trip Germany, use this quick guide of things you should avoid doing if you don’t want to ruffle feathers!
1. No Pillow Fights!
According to German law, a pillow can be regarded as a passive weapon. Injure someone with a pillow and you could be charged with assault. Unless of course, it's on International Pillow Fight Day.
2. No Drilling on Sundays
Germans take the day of rest seriously, and no loud activities are allowed on this peaceful day. Vacuum at your own risk.
3. Avoid Talking about the War
Most Germans believe the war to be a huge embarrassment to their nation, and would rather not discuss it. Never do the Nazi salute as it’s an imprisonable offense in Germany.
4. Don’t Close Your Door to a Chimney Sweep
It’s actually illegal to refuse entry to a chimney sweep, and all Germans pay for this service whether they have a chimney or not. The law stems from the Middle Ages, but was reinforced back when Hitler used them as a network of spies.
5. Don’t Sing the Original First Verse of the National Anthem
During the Nazi era only the first verse was sung.
In an effort to distance themselves from Nazi connotations, the official anthem is now the third verse. Pete Doherty once made this highly inappropriate mistake and was booed.
6. Don’t Run Out of Gas
Doing so on the superhighway can lead to fines. The law is primarily against unnecessary stops, but has been applied to fools who drive without adequate fuel.
7. Never Walk in Bicycle Lanes
Most German cities have plenty of these; numerous cycle lanes for people to get about. However walking on them is not only extremely annoying to pedal pushers, it can be downright dangerous.
8. Don’t Be Late
Being late to appointments is severely frowned upon. The more relaxed attitude typically found in southern European countries simply doesn’t cut it here. Aim to be punctual if not a little early.
9. Don’t Keep Your Shoes on in Homes
Taking your shoes off when enter somebody’s home is widely expected in Germany. Hosts will often provide you with some indoor house shoes.
10. Never Drink Without a Toast
Germany is famous for its beer scene, however it is considered bad form to take the first sip without giving a toast. Usually a toast is as simple as saying “Prost” (cheers!) Make sure to keep eye contact as not doing so is believed to bring bad luck.

This happened to me when I was little. I went camping with my older brother and my mom. I was about 7 or 8 and I went to bed around 10 in a sleeping bag inside my tent with both my mom and brother. Some time during the night, I don't know when, I woke up somewhere in the middle of the woods still in my sleeping bag. I had no idea where I was or where my tent was. I screamed for my mom and I heard her calling back for me in panic but she was easily 100 yards away or so. To this day I have no idea how I ended up in the middle of the woods still inside my sleeping bag. Gives me the chills...

One of my college professors told us his story. He was camping in the Cordillera mountains and had his own tent. He woke up in the middle of the night to find a woman with unkempt hair and torn and bloody clothing crawling on all fours towards him. He screamed and woke up--it was a dream. When his friends rushed to his tent to see what was the matter, he told them about his dream and a few of them became visibly uncomfortable, with all the color draining from their faces. They insisted that they leave camp as soon as the sun came up. It was only after they had left the mountains that his friends told him that several of them had shared similar dreams. Except in their dreams, they saw a woman crawling into my professor's tent.

I went camping with my girlfriend back when digital cameras weren't a thing and we had to use disposable. We had a good time, took alot of pictures on 3 disposables.
We had a great time, 3 days of camping in a remote part of the state were from.

We never went camping again.

Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the land of the Vikings? Then grab your bag, hop on a flight and prepare to be amazed... However, beware of these 10 things not to do while you're in Norway.
1) Don't Pack an Umbrella!
In Norway the weather is highly unpredictable. Rain can be on and off all day, from spring through to autumn. Of course in the winter it doesn't rain, it snows. Most people just wear rain coats and avoid having to open and close an umbrella every 5 minutes!
2) Don't Expect to Buy Alcohol
Back home, booze is available pretty much at any time and in any supermarket. But in Norway (anything stronger than 4.7%) is regulated by the state, and only sold through state-run vinmonopolet shops, and only at certain hours of the day. Grocery stores and supermarkets are only allowed to sell weaker alcohol beverages before 8pm on weekdays, before 6pm on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays.
3) Don't Haggle!
If you've been to the Middle East or Asia, you might be used to being expected to lower the vendor's price by haggling. In Norway it is not expected. At all. Everything in Norway has a fixed price and you will only confuse people by trying to lower it.
4) Don't Use Your Hands!
Sure, Norwegians love burgers and hot dogs, in fact you'll find Norwegian
pølse almost anywhere. Also try Whale Steak, Pickled Herring or Fårikål. However, again, this is not the Middle East. Don't eat with your bare hands! It is not uncommon in Norway to even eat sandwiches with utensils!
5) Don't Buy Train Tickets with Cash
In small train stations, ticket vendors only accept coins, or credit cards. There are no ticket offices where you can buy them instead. If you only have a big note, buy your ticket from an on-board conductor. However it will cost you about 25% extra.
6) Don't Take a Taxi
Taxis are very safe in Norway, but they're also very expensive. From Gardermoen airport to Oslo can cost from $60 to $150, and the tariffs per km vary depending on which city you’re in and which taxi company you’re using. It's a lot cheaper to travel by bus or metro.
7) Don't Tip!
The service charge will always be included in your bill. So you don't need to leave a tip. If especially happy with the service, you can leave a little something, but tipping more than 15% will make you look like you’re just showing off.
8) Don't Wear Shoes Indoors
Much like other Germanic countries, if you're invited to someone's home, remember to leave your shoes in the entrance. With so much snow and sand from the street, your outdoor shoes would make a mess.
9) Don't Get Too Close
Don't touch people or get too close when you talk to them, especially if you don't know them much and might make them shy away from you

We always think trains as just a form of transport, but they are much more than that! Here are the most impressive railways from around the world!
1) Burma Railway, Thailand
This train was built by the Japanese army in WWII. It's also known as "Death Railway" because 110,000 people died building it. Its tracks run along a very narrow path. If you look down, it seems like there's nothing below but a sheer drop.
2) Gokteik Viaduct, Myanmar
It was once the largest railway in the world. If you are afraid of heights you shouldn't get into this train because there are several bridges that will put you off trains for life!
3) Gelmerbahn Funicular, Switzerland
This is the steepest funicular in Europe, with a 106% incline!!! It's one of the scariest rides but also one of the coolest at the same time! You should try it!
4) Bangladesh Railway
Well, the images speak for themselves. It goes without saying that this train is completely overcrowded. People hang from the sides, jump onto the roof... It's absolutely crazy! And as you can imagine, a lot of them die from riding in this dangerous fashion.
5) Maeklong Railway, Thailand
This is a market that is set up on the actual tracks! When a train comes everybody has to quickly fold up their shops and hop out of the way to let the 30 Km/h train plod by. They then set up everything back to how it was. Business as usual.
6) Tren a las Nubes, Argentina
This is one of the highest railways in the world. With 29 bridges, 21 tunnels and 2 zigzags you won't get bored on this one.
7) Indian Railways
This is one of the largest and busiest train networks in the world. The people just jump on it even if the train hasn't stopped, so every year more than 25,000 people die using it.
8) Pilatus Railway, Switzerland
This is the steepest Cogwheel railway in the world. It has a gradient of 48% to reach its station at 7,000 feet.
9) Naríz del diablo Railway, Ecuador
This is considered the world's most dangerous train journey. It climbs more than 500 metres in 12 Km. So it's full of steep ups and downs where you will prefer to keep your eyes firmly shut.
10) White Pass & Yukon Route, Alaska
This one was built to reach the goldfields during the Gold Rush. It steadily climbs up to 3,000 feet and trawls over some of the most beautiful and terrifying bridges out there!
